I hope I'm posting this in the right place, if not I apologize in advance.

I'm trying to figure out who to contact to coordinate a special dining event for four people in October. I'd prefer to have it at the Grand Floridian during the afternoon, but I'm flexible. Right now I'm just trying to figure out how to get started.

Surely WDW has an events coordinator for something other than weddings, large family gatherings, and business events?

I've considered calling the GF directly, but I'd thought I'd see if anyone here knows of a better idea before I try calling the hotel. Also, we're not staying at the GF, but at the BCV, and I didn't know if that would make a difference in trying to set something up.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'd always contact the hotel directly, unless it's for a wedding in which case they do have co-ordinators, don't forget victoria and alberts has a very special theme and i believe a private dining area, check out the all ears site for more info. good luck with your planning

What do you mean by a "special dining event"? Also you talk about afternoon, about when do you want to do this?

Since you are staying at BCV, you could get something set up through Y&B Private Dining; this might work very well if you were in a 1BR or 2BR and not a Studio.

If it something like an special anniversary and you are willing to have it as a dinner I would think that V&A would be your best choice; as part of the restaurant they have a private dining room that seats up to 12 people.

thanks for the suggestions. I've contacted GF and am waiting to hear back from them.

I did consider gifts of a lifetime and may end up using them, but for budgeting reasons I really wanted to get started on this now and they only work six months out from the date of the event.

What I had in mind was a mad tea party / unbirthday party as a surprise for my husband and my parents. We always end up traveling in October during my birthday (which we are doing again this year) and I thought it would be a nice surprise to plan an event for them. This seems (on the surface) like a whimsical, fairly easy idea and I thought the GF would be a perfect setting for it.

The problem is whether or not I can get to the right people / planners and whether or not it's within my budget. If not, I guess I'll have to improvise!

Thanks again for your suggestions.
