My husband and I are traveling with our three kids: two teens and a 6 y/o, this June. We like to have one night to ourselves, but are really at a loss what to do that night since Adventurer's Club and the Comedy Club are closed. :sad1:

We've done Jelly Rolls and it didn't do much for us. We considered Circe, but it's too spendy. We're open to someplace nice for dinner, but would like something more. We're willing to go off-site, but we'd have to take a taxi.

I would love some other suggestions! Thanks in advance~

Have you ever been to Bob Jackson's show at POR? Much like the dear departed Adventurers Club, the show is equally fun with kids or without. He performs in the bar/lounge at POR starting at 8:30 pm several nights a week. There was a good blog writeup about him on AllEars just a month or so ago. No cover charge but you do have to purchase something (which can even be just a soda) to sit at a table in the main room. DH and I went last week. We had dinner at Boatwrights at POR and were surprised; the atmosphere was noisy as anticipated but the quality of the food exceeded our expectations. DH had catfish and I had the beef tenderloins.

A more romantic (although pricier) option would be to have dinner at your choice of restaurant and then take a 1/2 hour carriage ride at POR or Ft Wilderness. Ride must be reserved in advance and I believe the charge is $35 for the half-hour. Of course, you are completely at the mercy of the weather for this one and might at least want Bob Jackson as a back-up plan.
