Evening EMH ?

We are staying off-site so not using EMH. Was thinking about going to Mk our first park day but they have evening EMH that day? Does it usually get more crowded in the afternoons? We plan to get there at rope drop so how bad do you think the crowds will be? It is also the park to avoid, is that because of the EMH? We are doing a second day at MK on that Wednesday when the crowds are supposed to be lower. So would you start with Mk or start with another park?

It sounds like your first day will be the same day as our (though we will be flying in that morning and not make it for rope drop, but will be going to EMH).
My experience with rope drop for MK has been very good in the past. We were able to go on all of the major rides, some of them multiple times, within the first hour or two and then left before the park got too crowded and spent time at the pool at the hotel. However, there were no small children with us. Also, we had park hoppers, which allowed us to come back later in the day to avoid the mid day rush.

I would avoid any park with emh, Holly. Visit the low crowd park/s for the day/night, and have a much easier and relaxing vacation.

Thanks I am just so torn I really wanted our first park to be Magic Kingdom but I know we will be more relaxed when it isn't so crowded due to EMH! I think I will see what DH things and let him decide, I have planned this whole vacation it's his turn to make a decision...LOL

If that first park day is a Monday then I would avoid MK. It is the traditional first park for all those who arrived over the weekend and are starting their touring. Also, why deal with the EMH crowds if you won't get any EMH benefit.

If you must go to MK that day (I also like to see the castle asap ) - arrive at RD and collect FPs while doing your morning touring. Take a break when the crowds get crazy. Save your FPs for when you return to the park that night or

If you have hoppers, you can do MK in the AM and head somewhere else when you run out of FPs or crowds start to build.
