Even on the phone...they can only do 7 nights

I called in to get a quote and even on the phone they can only book 7 nights. So, she's doing 7 nights and then doing 3 nights separate. This seems so strange that they can't put in 10 days. Somehow I think this will cause me to pay for a double day of a ticket, but I'm not sure.

It used to be that way with the Ultimate Park Hopper, but you won't have any issues with the Magic Your Way tickets - you get to choose the number of days that you want.

She's putting in 7 days and then 3 days on the other ressie and I think that will make me pay for a day twice, won't it? I think it's weird that they can't do more than 7 days. Not too great since there is a 10 day ticket.

Just thought of something else...it's cheaper to buy longer tickets...so when she puts in the 3 day ticket...it will be more having a 7 day ticket and a 3 day ticket than a 10 day ticket. Really not too great!!

And won't that mess up the " stay longer pay less" feature??
I just called to change a few things and the castmember I talked to said they are swamped and the computers are running very slow. He could not help me and told me to call back after 1 and hope for the best.
Maybe they are still working out the kinks... I would check with another castmember and maybe check back in a couple days. I would not want it split up like that unless I was sure this would not cost me more.

yes...we must have posted at the same time. With her way, the trip would be 6400!! if I do rate rack, tickets for 10 days and dining for the 4 of us, I get 5534. Someone needs to fix their system so they can enter more than 7 days that's for sure.

While it is true that you would lose the benefit of the 10 day ticket, you are no longer forced to purchase length of stay tickets.

Just tell them how many days worth of tickets you want associated with each ressie, and you won't double pay for a day.

ILoveWDW2003 is right. In my case, if I wanted to do a 10 night/11 day stay, I would have to do the following:

one 5 night reservation with a 6 day hopper pass w/dinning
one 5 night reservation with a 4 day hopper pass w/dinning

I wouldn't need anything on the 11th day since I am leaving early in the morning and. Since the 6 day pass would work on the day that I am moving over to the new resort, I wouldn't need to have a ticket for that day either.

By the way the reasoning behind the 8 night 7 day package length only is because Disney marketing research showed that people didn't want to stay pass 8 nights.

But, I won't have the benefit of staying longer if I split my ressie into two. I read on another thread that 10 day tickets are only sold to oversea's and Candadian travelers. I hope I misunderstood that one!

EEyorelover22,

If you look at the ticket area of the online site which you can get into, you can buy a 10 day ticket.

This is really going to make me think. Is the dinning option really worth not being able to save with the 10 day ticket.

MagicKingdom05, Thanks...the site was down when I just went back there. I am on the phone again and I think I will add the 10 day ticket now before they change their minds. I know I can always upgrade to a package later with dining, but I don't think I will do that because of the loss on the hotel room.

BTW, when I was on the phone, the CM said she could build the dining onto my ressie I already had for 10 days, but I didn't want to mess with it. I asked her how I got the price and she said, rack rate, dining at 35 per day per person and the 295 for the tickets times 4.

MagicKingdom05, I just remembered something...when I tried to book a 10 day stay without adding tickets, it wouldn't let me. I had to knock it down to 7. Where did you see the 10 day ticket price?

The site is down now too :guilty:

EEyorelover22,

Did you have the old dream maker package? If so then that would make sense, but I thought that if you wanted dinning, you would have to switch over.

No, I had a room only reservation. She is now trying to add tickets and she's saying now it's a package...I hope that's not true and I can just add tickets otherwise, I won't be able to switch if a code comes out.

O.K. this may sound really dumb but can you book a room with the dining package but no tickets? Because if you could then you could make 2 ressies with the dining for the amount of days you need and then buy that 10 day pass seperate...make sense? That way you are not paying more for the tickets on the shorter ressie. Way too confusing! LOL

antkim,

Nope. It has to be a complete package (room and tickets) to add the dinning on to it.

 And I thought I had a solution!! LOL It makes no sense that they offer a 10 day pass but you can not stay that long! I think some of their "researchers" might have had a few too many :drinking1 !! LOL

If Disney wanted to make it more affordable for everyone maybe they should have just lowered their prices! :confused3 Seems like a better solution than all of this!! :D

antkim,

I agree. Why change your package stay limit from 10 nights to 8 nights. I thought that they wanted people to stay longer and that was the reason for the new packages and tickets.

They did do one thing right. They did make it cheaper to stay longer at the parks, but didn't make it cheaper to stay at the resorts longer and that is what they needed to do with the new packages.
