My dad is on the west coast of Florida. He just called to let me know he is awaiting an MRI but the doctor believes he has a herniated disk. He has had disk problems in the past and has used an ECV. My question where can he rent an EVC reasonably in the Tampa/Sarasota area? They are in a retirement park so it would basically be to get around the park. We have used Walker mobility in the past but I'm not sure they go out of central florida. Any info would be great

One location I can think of off the top of my head is www.scootaround.com which is a nationwide firm that I know does business in Tampa.

Another option, especially for long-term would include purchase. You might want to, for example, go to www.pridemobility.com and look at their dealer list. Some ECVs, such as the Pride Go-Go (250 pound limit) sell new for under a thousand dollars. Some of the dealers do rentals also.

Also, look in the local Yellow Pages in the Medical Equipment category, at least for my area there are lots of display ads from companies with ECVs.
