Does Grand Californian have EV Charging Stations? If so, what's the pricing like? Thanks!

I actually just called the GCH yesterday to ask about this. If you Valet ($50/night) the cost of charging will be included. They told me their chargers are not tied to a specific vehicle (so not Tesla destination chargers). I asked if I needed to bring any equipment and they told me no. For reference I have an ID.4 which uses a J1772 plug.

We just got back and stayed at PPH but there are EV chargers there for self park. Let me say that I will most likely never stay there again (unless it's very very cheap) since the EV charging situation is a joke. There are 4 charging spots, 1 is a HC spot so if there is a HC placard that needs the spot, that trumps EV. Also, charge point doesn't charge idle fees so we noticed the same 2 cars parked there for 4 days just plugged in. There was another car, EV, parked in the last spot but wasn't even plugged in. He was there for 2 days, just parked. We asked the parking attendant and the front desk but they said there is no enforcement of the spots and even if a non-EV car is parked there is there, they can't do anything about it. We were able to park in 1 spot overnight and got about 60 miles of charge after 8 hours or so, maybe cost $12. It's equivalent to a normal (non-Tesla) home charger speed. We have a MX 100D and had to use an adapter.

We are DVC, we park at the Grand for free when staying on points. The valet takes our Tesla M3 LR and adapter (J1772) to the garage and charges it for us over night. I don't believe we charged for this as I didn't tap-in at the chargepoint terminal and don't get a folio from the hotel as we are DVC and normally don't charge to the room...We try to do this on the last night so we can leave the next am without hogging the charger. We've charged at the DLH self-park and had a similar "parked but not charging" experience, but got lucky and was able to charge on our last day while we went to the park and had lunch. As others have sated these are slooooow....our experience was about 30 miles on our charging morning at DLH charger (4hr, $7.13). The slight bump gives us piece of mind to get back out of OC with sufficient charge even if there is traffic, but with the awesome charger in Beaumont we will likely not need to pay chargepoint again. We will try charging at the Grand in Feb with our new MY LR.

Just out of curiosity, do you recall how much charge you got overnight at the GCH? I'm expecting something faster than an L1 charger, but not crazy fast. I live in north county San Diego, and can easily make it to DL and back on a single charge, so this is really more of a convenience for me.

Unfortunately I don’t remember as it was in early 2020…a time long long ago….Same rate as DLH as I believe its the same chargepoint chargers. Looking at CP website, it’s a J1772 at 7.2kw….desperately slow….

wow! Thanks for the info. People can be so rude!! We have charged at the DLH and always leave a note with our number if someone else needs a charge asap. We also move our car as soon as we are done charging. We know other people need those spots.

when we stay in Anaheim now we usually just go charge at toy story. They have tons of chargers, so it’s never been an issue.

Sorry you had such a bad experience with the EV chargers at PPH. That really stinks.

Just got back from our trip. When we pulled into he Valet on the 20th I requested a charge. The attendant let me know that if the chargers (they use ChargePoint L2 chargers) were available they would connect my car. If they were occupied they would add me to a wait list. When I checked out today my car was at 80% SoC. I dropped it off right around 55%.

Valet is currently $50 per night, so I hesitate to call this free, but I'll take it!
