has anyone travelled on Eurostar via Lille? We are booked onto the 6am Eurostar from St Pancras in just 3 weeks time & have to change at Lille. We booked through First Choice but did not get the option to travel direct. Is it a major inconvenience having to change? Will we not be able to use the baggage drop off service? We are a bit concerned that we have not yet got any tickets & wondered whether this was normal. My Grandson will be in a wheelchair & we would like to know how inconvenient this will be, especially with having to change. Any help would be greatfully received.

Hi there,

We travelled via Lille once and I must admit it wasn't fun. We went in Dec, just before Xmas with a 4 year old and 3m old baby. It was cold and we thought it'd be easy to find our way at the station but there were no signs so e got a little bit stuck:headache: . Found it in the end and it was ok. I'm sure you'll be ok, just make sure you don't run out of time.

Bear in mind that the train from Lille to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy is a normal French train and not the Eurostar!

We had a better experience than ema74 I'm pleased to say. We travelled via Lille on Boxing Day and our Eurostar train arrival was actually delayed, meaning I reckoned we had all of 10 mins to get off the Eurostar and onto the TGV train. I was starting to wonder if our ticket would be valid for the next train if we missed it, though it was clear we wouldn't be the only ones. I had DD all geared up to move fast, particularly as lifting luggage on and off trains isn't easy for me, luckily we had no young children with us.

I needn't have worried though, we got off the Eursotar and only had to cross the platform to get onto the waiting TGV, not only that but we were right by to the carriage that our seats were located in! I can't be sure if our delayed train had anything to do with this, however, maybe it was a connecting train or something?

Thanks for this thread as its useful to know how other people have gotten on incase i have to get a connecting train one day.
