So it turns out that our October halfterm is a week earlier than the majority of the country's, so the school holiday price hike doesn't happen until the week *after* we're off school & work  So, although I probably can't justify it, I'm wondering about taking my girls away for a few days. We're already planning a late Nov trip to DLP to do the Christmas thing, but my parents are Sky customers so they could get us free one-day tickets, so we'd only have to pay for 1 of us to get in to the parks for a day trip. And Eurocamp's International site would only cost about £118 for 4 nights, and it's commutable. We could also do a couple of days in Paris. Has anyone here done this?

The only problem is the transport.. I don't drive, flights would cost too much to be worth it, and Eurostar doesn't go up to October yet. Does anyone know how much tickets start at for October - are they comparable to the same days of the week in July? If so, they're about the same price as flights!

What to do! :)

We were going to stay at International campsite a few years ago but cancelled at the last minute and stayed at Holiday Inn instead - we werent going to travel to DLP from there though just into Paris and then move to DLP.
I dont know if youve been before but I think its a very basic campsite. Its the opposite side of Paris to DLP although on the same RER line. It will take quite a while to get there as you would have to go through Paris everytime then out again so could take 1h30-2hrs each way.
Have you looked at the hotels at Val d"europe - sometimes you can get Etap for about £30 night- again very basic but much closer

Once you get on the RER at Maisons Laffitte it's an hour and 10 minutes to go straight through to DLP

If that doesn't bother you it's a not a bad town to be in and it's very close to Paris center - 30 mins will get you to Chatelet-Les Halles so central Paris - for exploring the city :)

Eurostars lowest fare is always £69 but there aren't that many of them..have you tried phoning Eurostar and seeing when the tickets will be available ?

If you ring Eurostar direct they can give you the prices earlier than webiste
We go the smae week and have booked flights £95.00 each

Thanks. I haven't phoned them yet, but if it's £69 per person each way (??) I'd probably be better off flying with a budget airline, if I can justify it. I don't mind basic campsites but then again it'll probably be pretty nippy in a static caravan in late October! I think I'll look into the hotels some more :) And invent a teleporter to get us there for free ;)
