We have booked this because it was cheaper than going the direct route and easier to get to for us.

Anyone had any experience of travelling this route?

Hi moominn,

Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome you to DLP DIS board :flower3:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread, or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1477038 ,
DIS posting guidelines can be found here
http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm .

I'm sure some of our members here will be along shortly to give you their experience of the indirect Eurostar to DLRP :)

I don't think many have gone from Ebsfleet as it hasn't been open long. It is just the same as the other indirect route from London/Ashford. It just leaves from a different station.

Many have done the in direct route & had no problems.

D'oh! I didn't think you could go directly or indirectly to DLRP from Ebbsfleet!

It's only 10 mins from where I live and I've stupidly booked to go from Ashford :sad1:

I didn't realise it was that new. Its out first time going to DLP so I don't know much about anything DLP related in fact. :)

We're staying at the Sequoia Lodge for 3 nights in March and I'm very excited.

Sequoia Lodge is a great hotel! I stayed there a couple of years ago and tehn again in July and it was wonderful! :) Any questions ask away!!

There's always a few of us over on the O/T Chit chat thread, so come join in the DLRP madness if you like! :) Also it's a good palce to ask little questions if you dont want to start a whole new thread.

Also - DLRPmagic.com is great-has lots of info on all the rides and shows and stuff.

dlpfoodguide.com is great for info on restaurants. Some of the menus are a little out of date though.

Ebsfleet goes all the way to Lille and the change over there shouldn't be to bad for you, they usually arrive on the same platform but the waiting board will tell you where to go so you should find it easy, i have changed at Lille before and it wasn't to bad really.

It's a shame that you can't get a direct service to DLP from Ebslfeet, it's only one more stop so shame on Eurostar!

But i agree with the others, after a little while on here you'll be a mini expert on DLP, any question you have just ask as we have either asked the same question before or answered a similar one.

My first DLP visit was really made so much better because of all the help i got from the guys and gals on here so just don't be scared to ask away, we're all a friendly much and happy to help :)

Thank you everyone for all your comments/help. I'm sure I'll have loads of questions to ask over the next few weeks. :flower3:

The one thing to be prepared for is the escalators at Lille when you change trains. the waiting area is above the tracks so getting on and off the platform has to be negotiated which can be frault when there are big crowds

I have a feeling it may happen in the future, they have to try & appease the people in Ashford as they took away the a route (Lille or Brussels) & people pertitioned so Eurostar have agreed to reintroduce it. I do think they will do direct from Ebsfleet eventually.

Am I going to struggle on my own with luggage, buggy and toddler in March?

If you ARE awake and manage to get off on your intented stop then the rush is getting off the platform up to the arrivals lounge and then back down again to continue your journey. You'll know when your connecting train is due so if there's no rush then just sit back on the platform and let them all fight it out and just go up once the fights have finished!

Then when your in the lounge and the board shows you what platform you need to go to, again sit back as there are certain people who will barge past you whatever your holding. Once on the platform you all queue to get on anyway and there is no rush so don't worry, and don't worry about scanning your tickets in the machines either. They don't do anything!

Just wait till the bumping has gone, you'll get there in the end anyway and you have reserved seats! There was plenty of room on the TGV for bags and such as well so it's not like your limited to space.

Your in no rush so just sit back and watch everyone else fight it out

Thanks Genn.

Basically take it easy then. I might even make Kacee walk, that'll mean we take it really slowly!

why not go the whole hog, pack a case for him to pull too!
