We went to DLP as a family last year and drove there. Next year I am going with just my daughter (age 16) and so am thinking that the Eurostar might be the best option, as I don't want to do the drive when it's just the two of us.

Is it possible to go go direct to DLP from these stations?

By getting on the train here, would we have trouble getting seats together?

If so, how far in advance would I need to book to get direct tickets?

Are there hotels next to these stations, as we may stay over the night before travel?

Thanks

No not if you book at the same time i wouldn't have thought.

That very much depends on how many others are booking at any one time, but my advice book early anyway as the tickets are cheaper.

Ashford there are a few hotels within a mile or two of the station, Ebbsfleet i can't say as i have never been there.

Thanks

Thanks for the answers, that's really helpful. I just need to see how far in advance I can book Eurostar tickets now.:)

Hi

We are travelling via eurostar from ashford and staying at the Ashford Central premier inn about 2 miles away literally around the corner and was cheap to £29.00 per room :)

we always go direct from Ashford as we live in Kent

they do go direct from ebbsfleet but there isn't that much close to Ebbsfleet really

There are loads of hotel's close to Ashford to stay in.

You can book online 180 days in advance for DLP, but if you call them you can sometimes book up to 10 months in advance. As a previous poster said - the earlier you book the better then price :)

good luck

I have stayed here 5 times and we really love it. It is less than 10 minutes in the car to the station from here. Ashford station is pretty clean and never really busy like most city train stations. It is always a real pleasure to start our holiday from here.

I travel up from North Devon each time. Although it is a 5 hour drive, once we are at Ashford it is pretty relaxing. The next slightly stressful moment is when you get off the train at DLP and have to decide where you are going to go first for fun.

Hi Wholly

Do you use the stations NCP car park? do you pay before you go or on return?

Im really excited now only 3 weeks and 2 days left

Hi.

I usually use the train station car park NCP. You get a ticket upon arrival when you drive in and upon return then pay for your cars stay there.

Has anyone stayed at the Eureka Leisure Park Premier Inn in Ashford?. I usually travel down on the same day and get straight on the train, but this time i thought i'd stay somewhere the night before and booked here.

We stayed at the Travelodge at Eureka Park in 07. There was plenty to see and do. We went to the cinema to watch POTC, then on to Frankie and Benny's. It was a great start to our break. We got a "lovely" McD's breakfast on the morning of our departure too!!

Ohhh N1 Mickey, i didn't know there was a cinema etc there.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info on the hotel at Ashford. I'm not sure if we'll have the car as my husband might drop us off at the hotel, I'm sure that a taxi would be quite cheap though.
