Hi there,

Well I'm trying to another visit to DLRP either for Halloween or Christmas.

We've previously been to the Christmas season, and this would be my prefer visit this year - can't seem to be able to imagine what Christmas is without a DLRP visit first to see their decorations etc. However, my oldest really would like to go to see Halloween...anyhow...

Whilst looking at transport options, and using the 'Roll a 6 to start' Eurostar website, on most of the days I'm looking at the direct service is not listed, which I'm assuming means is fully booked.

The alternative is to go on the Eurostar -> Lille -> TGV -> DLRP booking.

Just wondering if anyone has recently done this trip and there experience.

I read in some older threads some comments that it's fairly painless, TGV tends to be there fairly earlier, biggest issue is getting the locals out of your seats on the TGV - just really wondering at others epxeriences of recent.

Thanks

Iain.

We got the eurostar to disney for the first time this year and took the London->Lille->DLRP route. Even for us inexperienced people it was really simple. It was a bit annoying waiting around for a little while at a fairly dull train station (like most train stations) but the TGV was clearly announced. On both the outward and the return journey we found it a bit of a challenge to find a space for our luggage, but space was eventually found. Didn't have a problem with locals sitting in our seats so can't comment on that.
It was also good as it's a less popular route to get to Disney so only a few people get off the train at DLRP, meaning its less busy than when the direct train gets in. That was definately a plus point.

nifferwilko,

we are doing the same trip in a couple of weeks. At Lille, do you have to change platforms?

It does leave from the same platform (from what I remember) on the way down, but we had a wait so we went upstairs. There are huge boards and it's quite easy to get from the platforms to the main concourse so if it's a luggage issue it would be easy for someone to double check.
On the way back you do have to change platforms as the train from DLRP is a tgv so it's not until you get to Lille that you check into Eurostar.

It may be worth contacting Eurostar to check availability. Last month our journey was listed as indirect on their website but when I spoke to them there was availability on the direct service. The agent couldn't explain why this had happened but we ended up with the direct journey both ways.

there is a time when you go that it can be halloween one nite and when you visit the park the next day it will be christmas a tour operator told me this so cannot be certain on how true this is or when to do it so you get the best off both.
I planned to do this and i think if you look in the back of the brochure you see when the seasons are and you could plan it like that?
Idon't know if i have been any help to you? :grouphug:
