We are booked on one of the European cruises that give us the option for a delayed PIF. If we are booked through Costco, and we just got a letter reminding us to pay, do we need to contact Costco and let them know we are taking that option? Or can we just wait.
Our original DCL PIF is in 2 weeks but Costco wants us to pay now. I was just curious if any others chose that option as Costco has a 3 hour wait time currently. TIA!

My initial thought is -- DCL has offered a delayed final payment schedule, but that doesn't necessarily translate to Costco allowing the same delayed timeframe. I would definitely contact Costco to find out what they will allow. Until you board the cruise, your contract is with Costco -- which is why TA's can require different payment schedules, charge fees, etc. Hopefully Costco will adjust their schedule similarly, and the notice you received was automated and just didn't get changed in their system yet.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

Just wait for their backoffice to call you - no need to get in line. Once they do, let them know of the delayed option, and they should be able to adjust the PIF date in the system right then. BTW, given what's going on in Italy right now, I would re-shop these cruises to better prices if going.

Lol! We were totally thinking about reshopping- a vgt is almost the same price. But then we figured with everything going on, we have a good chance of getting a port upgrade without having to change to a guarantee rate.

Is the back office who will call if our payment does not go through by Costco’s pay in full date? This is the first I’ve heard of them so thank you so much for your thoughts.

Yes, the backoffice usually calls around Costco's PIF date and then pretty every other day until they get you on the phone. That's why Costco has the extra cushion, just so that they can round everyone up before the real deadline, lol.

If you have the automatic pay and a credit card on file, it will automatically pay thru Costco. Mine did for a January PIF date. And, Costco makes you pay early!
