Has anyone ever bought and/or sold from Etsy? I was having a browse the other day and I thought it might be a way to stretch some pennies in these straightened times. (I used to e-bay but DH had a problem with paypal and one buyer and it took so long to sort out we never bothered again).

Any views gratefully received! TIA

I've bought quite a lot of things from etsy, and actually just opened my own etsy shop a couple of days ago!

I do actually really love etsy, and I've never had a problem with it, even buying things from abroad etc. hasn't caused any problems. I do however always make sure I read the shop policies before buying anything, so that way I know where I stand with the seller in case the parcel goes missing or is damaged. And on my own shop I've specified everything in my policies in case something happens.
I know that you can say that if someone doesn't pay within a certain amount of time you have the right to cancel the sale etc., so I think it's better than ebay in that sense.:)

I hope this helps!:goodvibes

I  Etsy!!

Im only a buyer but I find it easy to buy from and also have to say all the sellers I have dealt with have been amazing and they want the purchase to please!!
My dd loves all the custom disney stuff that I have bought so a huge :thumbsup2 from me!

I have recently discovered Etsy as a buyer and I love it.

Me too - thanks to the wedding planning area of these boards.
I will be using Etsy at some point to buy weddingy type thing. They have some wonderful things on there and I haven't (yet) heard a bad word about them.

From my brief exploration, you can search for "local" sellers - so if you don't want to buy from overseas then you can look for just UK sellers.

Looks like I'v got my Sunday research mapped out;)

I have bought lots from etsy especially dolls clothes and have always have great experiences

Do Etsy have a UK site then ?

They do not have a UK site as such, but the first time you access this, it gives you the option of being shown the prices in Pounds. There are literally sellers from all over the world. I bought something from somebody from Australia and I am about to buy something from a German seller.
