what do you do when someone tells you a joke that really isn't funny...yet they think it is

if it isn't offensive I would just smile and nod my head. then change the subject.

I groan, cringe and smile all at once. It's honest about the joke yet supportive of the joke teller.

Tell them you don't think that joke's very funny, but you'll give them another chance to tell the next one right.
