Etiquette for attending twin's bday party

DS(7) recently went to a B-Day party for twin boys and the theme was "Super Heroes" & we gave the one that was in his class the Iron Man & his twin got Star Wars. His mom thought that was a great idea.:thumbsup2 They thought it was great as they had a little bit of each to play with.

DD recently went to a birthday party for twins (boys). We gave them two fake "light sabres" (basically fancy flashlights) from Star Wars - one blue, one red.

They were a hit - the boys loved them. And the parents are SW fans, and they didn't freak out about their sons getting "weapons" as gifts, thank goodness.

Wow there are a lot of parents to twins here!!!! Though I'm not a mom to twins (though everyone thinks they are because my 2yr old is 75% and 4yr old 25% on height w/ a 3in diff) we do have a joint party for them because their birthdays are 1m apart (esp since DS2's birthday is a week b4 Christmas and everyone is gone). I like the idea of a joint gift they can both use.

Wow, you guys are great! Thanks for all the great responses. We attended the birthday party yesterday and went with the Princess and the Frog movie (I'm a coupon freak so got a great deal). Then, my son just HAD to get them each a Tiana doll. Luckily they were on sale at Target. We got one with the green dress and one with the blue dress and they were a hit :) Thanks again for all the responses! :worship:

I'm too late to the party, but I'm another twin mom here and I think it's wonderful that you were thoughtful enough to get them each something. There are many out there that think of my kids as a unit, when they are definately individuals. Joint gifts are great, and actually movies are perfect for that! They also like the thrill of opening up thier own toy as well, even if it's something small. My girls are 8.

I'm a twin mom. It's a good idea. My boys like getting combined gifts sometimes because then it can be something bigger.

mom of twin girls here also..almost 7 and they always argue..anyone else having this problem? seems like they fight more than they get along..

When my DS's fought I would tell them they are not allowed to play together. They would have to be in seperate rooms, could not watch tv or play games together, could not even eat together. They would hate being apart and wouldn't take long until they were best friends again.
But now that they are older they have to sit on the couch, hold hands and say "I love you". All I have to do is threaten with that one and they straighten right up. :lmao:
