Ethical Question - What would you do?

WOW...honestly I think you should be ready in your FIRE PROOF OUTFIT and be ready to be FLAMED...I hate to say that...but you know how people get on the boards!

You need to call them and get it returned...that is the ethical thing!! And really they should send you a sticker to cover the shipping back to them since it was their mistake.

I would contact them and ask them how they want you to handle it and clearly indicate that you will not incur any expense in getting it back to them. It may take them a little while to do it, but they will most likely catch the error and then they'll just recharge you for it.

I think if you are asking , you already know what to do. Keep your concious clear. Disnhonest people wouldn't ask, you must be an honest person!! Hope you had a great holiday!

My honest opinion is that it is always a good thing to model honesty for your children.

For what it's worth, I've had nearly a handful of bad experiences with TRU online this Christmas. I won't be shopping with them again. They ended up costing me more in the end than if I had shopped elsewhere. Count me in as another unhappy TRU online customer.

Do what you know is right. Call, explain the situation and ask for a shipping label. They will instruct you what to do. Last year I had a shipment of candles that was very late arriving, When I called to ask about them I was told that the shipment was returned and they'd ship out a new set. I rec'd the new ones and a few days later the original shipment. I called, explained, requested a shipping label and they said just keep them.

I called and they are sending me a label. Do I feel right about it? No. Do I feel like TRU has cheated me this Christmas season? Yes. Is my conscience clear? Absolutely not. I feel like I was taken advantage of. Especially since when I called to cancel my order, the gentleman's first question was, "Did you pay for overnight shipping?" Like that would have fixed anything at the time!

hey don't feel bad. This year I placed a small order of about $25 worth of stuff at Circuit City. When I got the box I opened it up and inside was a 1GB Zen Mp3 player and two computer games -- over $100 worth of stuff.

I took it back to a Circuit City and the girl thereyelled at me and told me there was no way she could "return" that stuff because I didn't have a valid receipt for those items. I just wanted my original $25 credited back..not credit for the price of the more expensive items.

So I waited about another week and took it to a different Circuit City. The girl at the Service Desk there didn't know what to do either, but at least she didn't semi-accuse me of trying to pull a scam. I insisted that she call the store manager and He finally took care of it for me.

It was ridiculous how much trouble I had to go through to try and give them their stuff back however.

i would call TRU and ask to speak to a supervisor. get their name and ID if available and write it down. explain the entire issue and ask them to send you a call tag so UPS can pick it up, at their expense, from your front door. they might just tell you to keep it!!
