Are the extra magic hours (night) free? Or do you need a particular type of pass? The last time (when I was there) extra night hours were available for an extra fee. I was wondering if that is still the case.

In the past they had E-Ride Nights and it was a fee, but this is no longer, now the EMH are free for all WDW resort guest only.

You'll need to show your resort ID to the CM to receive a bracelet for the EMH.

Besides your resort ID you do need a valid theme park admission ticket to enter. There are several distribution points in each park where you show your resort ID and they put a wristband on you. Only people with the wristbands are allowed on any of the rides/attractions during evening EMH. Check out the information on allearsnet.com.
