We have decided we would like to go to DLP with the kids in .... wait for it ..

December 2009! Do you think thats enough time to save?

We want to go 1st December till the 3rd as my youngest will get to spend her 3rd birthday there (the 2nd) and we will get to enjoythe xmas celebrations :)

Now unfortunatly we cant view prices for anything as its so far in the future so been trying to work out a rough estimate of how much to save so want to run my figures by those who have been before (Ive been to DLP once as a teen but my parents paid)

So ..... We want to stay in the Cheyanne, stayed in Santa Fe last time and wasnt really impressed so thought might go one level up lol.
Just want to check ... park entry is included in price of hotel right? So as we are staying 2 days does that mean we get 2 days in the park?
There will be 4 travelling, 2 adults over 25 and 1 child aged 4 1/2 and 1 child who will be 2 when she gets there and 3 when she gets back!

My figures are (all estimates)

1/12/09 - 3/12/09

CHEYANNE HOTEL PLUS ENTRY TO PARK - ROUGHLY £400

EUROSTAR TO LILLE - £300-£400 (£75-£100 tesco vouchers for 3/4 tickets, under 4s are free)

TRAIN FROM LILLE TO DLP - £70 RETURN

TRAIN FROM EAST CROYDON TO ST PANCREAS - £20 (2 RETURNS, CHILDREN FREE)

ESTIMATED COST OF TRIP USING VOUCHERS - £565-£590 depending whether we book a Eurostar seat for the little one

So if I am for £600 I should be ok? Id also like to book a birthday tea so thats another £52

Does that sound reasonable? It seems alot to me but it is a special treat

Hi,

I only know one answer to your questions - if you stay 2 nights at a Disney hotel and are having a hotel/tickets package, you will usually get 3 days park tickets included.

I've booked with Disney direct for this twice now, and have always had 2 nights room plus 3 days park hopper tickets.

I have usually ended up spending about £175 each (one adult, one child) on the total cost of getting to DLRP and staying at a Disney hotel, including transfers etc. This is for the same duration as you are looking at, 2 nights and 3 days. This has all been this year, 2007, so I don't think £200 each 2 years from now is unreasonable.

Happy planning!!!

Elaine

If you book the Eurostar direct with disney when you book the holiday with them (as early as poss, while cheaper tickets are left) it can work out cheaper. Also this is then using the Disney Direct Eurostar, straight from London to Disneyland.

It really makes the most of your time in the parks as you arrive at lunchtime on the first day have the whole of the second day and don't leave til around teatime on the third day.

These are the prices from this years Disney direct brochure so just add on a bit for a couple of years time :)

Hotel Cheyenne 3 days/2 nights inc all park passes and Eurostar.
Adult - £291
Child (4-6) - £83 (3 and under are free if on lap on Eurostar)

291 + 291 + 83 = £665 then just add your travel costs to London

Did you know you can book Eurostar via Airmiles and Tesco ?

Ticket prices start from about £50.00 worth of Tesco vouchers/adult, so it's quite expensive, (except of course that you're not really paying) but this is for the direct train to DLRP, no changes. :)

No I didnt know that! Thanks :)
Taken a look and for 2 adult tickets and one child would need roughly £140 worth of vouchers :scared1: lol better get saving, I have 2 years after all!

I dont count vouchers as cash and would much prefer to go direct

Maybe its a good thing I decided to plan early after all

Well when i took my mum and dad last year on those dates, it worked out about £250 each for flights, and a 3 night 4 day stay (BUT we did get a day/night free so that is the cost of a 2 night 3 day really-if you go at this time you may find you can get the same offer...)

This year it cost about £370 per person for 3nights 4 days and £90 of that was flights.

so.... £70-90 flights
room and pass 2 nights 3 days £180(ish)

we budget about £20 a person for a meal at night in a restaurant and for lunch:
um borrow some of the goodies for the breakfast buffet...............:lmao:

Although i have done 3nights and 2 days with a coach compnay (all the way from Devon!!!) that was £370 for 2 adults at the seqouia, if you can take the long journey often coach is still the cheapest way!!!

Happy planning
