Estate jewelry

I have several pieces that I'd like to sell. They are ugly IMO. Does anyone have any suggestions of the best way to do this? Thanks.

When you say estate jewelry, do you mean fine jewelry - or costume jewelry?
Depending on the era and quality, there is a huge market for both type right now - but you would definitely go about selling them in different ways.

Fine jewelry. Turquoise, platinum, pearls, and such. Interesting bigger pieces, which is why for me they aren't appropriate. I feel silly whenever I try wearing any.

Most of it is from the 20's to 1940's

Do you have a trusted jeweler? I don't mean someone at chain store, but someone who knows fine jewelry and the value? If so, I'd call and ask if I could drop by to show a few pieces and get an opinion. I know my jeweler (a local, family owned business) was very helpful selling a few very ugly pieces of jewelry that I inherited from my aunt and then resetting a few of the stones in settings more my style.

I agree with this. Find a local jewelry maker, they normally carry estate jewelry along with their custom made jewelry.

You know, my parents dealt a lot with an old jeweler. That is great advice.
