We are going to WDW with my brother and his wife in August, and I have done all of our ESTA applications and had our approval numbers.

I gave my brother their 2 passports back and now my SIL is going to LA at the weekend so she has gone onto the Esta website to input her details with the application number I gave her, apparently it didnt work so she did the process all over again with her details and was given a new application number.

Will this be ok as she now has 2 numbers???

What should she do take the original one or just forget about it??

Any advice would be greatly apreciated.

Thank you very much in advance

Personally I would take copies of both print outs to be on the safe side. Show them the one she did herself but have the one you did in the bag as a back up.
She has a valid reason for having 2 numbers, in that the site wouldn't let her change her original one, so she can explain it to the officials when she gets to LA.
I'm pretty sure that during this transition period it won't be the first time they have seen a mistake like this.
The test will be when she returns. Will she be able to get back on the site with the application number she did herself and change the details to match her Florida trip?

I understood that the trip details were purely voluntary so we left them blank. It saves any onus to update them throughout the two year validity of the Esta.

Yeah that's what I thought too. She shouldn't need to do it again for the Florida trip, as the approval is to enter the U.S, not a specific part of it. And it's valid for two years. She didn't really need to do it herself either after the one you did was approved.

Thanks for the replies:thumbsup2

Sorry but should she just use the most recent Esta and forget about the other one??

I didnt think it would let her have another number linked to her passport details, this is all very confusing to me:confused

The original ESTA application is now cancelled.

From the US Customs & Border Protection FAQ site

Due to security/privacy concerns, we are unable to provide application numbers to people who have lost or misplaced them. If you lost, misplaced, or forgot your application number you will have to re-apply for in order to get another one. Your old application number will be automatically cancelled and a new one will be generated for you.

Thanks for that, spent about 15 mins looking for it earlier, was going to look again tonight. I knew it was there somewhere.:thumbsup2
