ESTA panic

I have heard a lot of scare stories about ESTA's not being accepted at airports because of anomallys.
My passport and DH's say given names ( in the plural) . So it states our first and middle names. Our ESTA's says First (given) name (in the singular) so I put just our first names. Is this correct? Will I have a problem? (Our booking states just our first name and surname so that matches our Esta exactly)

Personally I don't think you will have a problem as it asks for plenty of other information that will be used to verify your details.
As far as annomalies are concerned I would suspect this applies more to people who have maybe put a nickname instead of their real name, or something equally as silly.
Once you have got your authorisation I would just relax and look forward to your holiday.

ESTA applications only require first and last names. Someone on here was panicking a bit recently as they had added middle names. From the responses and links to info on the subject, it appears that what you have done is correct.

My DD and I both have middle names and have never used them on our ESTAs. We have travelled on the new ESTA system twice and never had a problem.

Hi it was me worried because i had added our middle names to the Esta. I have redone all our Estas with just our first and last name (just to be on the safe side)

So you have done correct in adding just your first and middle name.
