Hello

I am from the uk and am probably flying

London to LA - stay overnight to break up flight
LA to Honolulu - to stay few days then catch cruise
Get off cruise in vancouver and fly home same day

Just wondering what esta I need please

Thanks

You need the normal ( one and only) USA ESTA as you are going into LA and Hawaii on that you will type your first hotel name and address in LA

Take care that you use the USA Gov ESTA online service as there are other similar websites that either cost more or are completely fake.

DCL need to see the ESTA on embarkation in Hawai.

Of course you do not need the ESTA for Vancouver as its Canada.

I thought I read somewhere now you have to fill in something for canada or is that for when you fly in only?

Thank you :)

For UK you do not need anything part of the commonwealth, getting into Canada and Vancouver through Canadian border control was very easy less than three minutes and post cruise there was no check. We flew to San Francisco post cruise so had to go through USA border control that took an hour, but you do not need that. So nothing required for Canada unless you have a child with you and your not the parent.

Looked yesterday DH esta, he has two months left after we come back. I think this is acceptable, can someone just confirm

Thank you :)

That's true today, but changes on Aug 1 2015. Starting then, anyone that's not a US or Canadian citizen and doesn't otherwise need a visa to get into Canada needs to get an "eTA" from Canada in order to fly there. This includes people from Commonwealth countries such as the UK. Does not apply to land or sea entries. See:
