I want to plan a special dinner for DHs bday while we are in DL. I think he'd like the ESPN Zone (total sports nut). How's the food & prices?

Heya,

Prices are average for all the other table service restaurants in the area. Food is better than T.G.I.Fridays and not as good as House of Blues. It is a fun place, and every time we eat there we get good service (I was exceptionally thirsty last trip and my glass never ran dry). I usually get ribs, and haven't complained yet. Kids love the arcade upstairs, and there are plasma TVs everywhere playing sports.

Good times.

My husband (a total sports nut also!) and I do love this place! Especially during baseball season!

It's not going to be romantic in any way since it is always busy, but you'll have lots of fun!

As far as food goes, they make a great burger!!! I've always had a decent meal whenever we come here.

I would say to definitely try it!

Food portions are pretty big and they have the chocolate chip cookie sundae (which is really good). I usually get ribs or the BBQ chicken. Good sides.

Good selection of beers and alcohol too.

was wonderful! The serving sizes were very large. The prices didn't seem too outlandish, matter of fact, they were pretty close to similar prices at home. My boys loved their milkshakes. Their favorite part, though, was the game room.

My older son has been talking about how he hopes the rock wall is open this time around.

We ate in the restaurant-type area. It didn't seem any noiser than any of the chain restaurants. The service was great.

As an aside, you can sign up for an ESPN Zone membership and they will give you free points for the game room on your first visit!

We plan on eating there again this trip!

We love going to the ESPN Zone!!
Here's a link to their menu: http://espnzone.com/menu/

We ate there in April & for 3 adults for dinner with non-alcoholic drinks it ran us $54.00 (before tip). Nobody ordered a really expensive entree, so figure about $15-20 per person (adult) which includes a drink.

If you have a membership I believe you can make reservations, otherwise expect a long wait. This restaurant is very popular & stays busy.

The upstairs is all arcade games & it is very loud in the building (just pre-warning you, as we had a set of twin babies that couldn't handle the noise, even in the restaurant). There are tv's & sports memorabilia thru-out....we're all sport-nuts, so we love it here!

The service has always been very good. The food is tasty & served hot. You get plenty of food on your plate too!!

I would...yes! I'm thinking you don't have to have a resie to sit in the bar (but I could be wrong on that.....) If it's all adults & you want to see the game, I'd get there early to get a good seat...the bar might be the better choice.

Its not in Disney though. Downtown Disney is technically outside, so there is plenty of beer to be had. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

We are not sports fans at all .... and we love ESPNZone in DTD. The food was great (really varied choices compared to inside the park), the service was top notch, and the prices were comparable to prices in the area.

Go and Enjoy!!:cool1:

I'm SOLD....not that DH cares. I saw on their website that they have PS, so that's a bonus. Dizneelover: your pics are making me hungry! I love Philly Cheesesteak!

Just so everyone is aware, if there is a "Game Event" (of any kind) they institute food/beverage MINIMUMS per hour for every member of your party. SO, you can't just "sit at the bar and watch the game". This is in place at the Bar OR in the room on the RIGHT as you are facing the Podium. (The Screening Room).

You have to spend a MINIMUM of $10 per person, per hour to sit down in either of these areas. Just so you are aware!

My opinion of the ESPN Zone...it's the second best restaurant in DtD! The Burgers are EXCELLENT!

1. Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen
2. ESPN Zone
3. Naples

We went Monday night at 6:15 pm. We waited about 10 mins. for a table. The service was next to awful. Our server was so scatterbrained, we barely got refills, she didn't bring the extra plate I needed for my kids and I had to ask for mustard for my burger 3 times and she STILL DID NOT BRING it! Finally a manager came by, I told him what was going on and he ordered me a new burger (since mine was now cold) and brought me the mustard right away. DH and my kids were finished about 15 mins. before I even started on my food!

She came by and apologized saying it was her first day back from maternity leave.. well I have 2 kids and pregnant w/ my 3rd and she still didn't get much sympathy from me, lol. The manager gave me 20% off the bill for the trouble.

This was our 3rd time to ESPN Zone, the first 2 times we had no problem.

It did get super busy at 8pm when we were leaving. I don't know it it was b/c the park was closing or b/c of the Lakers game starting..

Aside from the very long wait we had to be seated at ESPN in October of last year, we had a great meal there. I had the outrageously good chicken fingers or tenders or whatever the heck they were, with this fantastic BBQ sauce that I can't rave enough about, and a thick, rich strawberry milkshake. The chicken tenders/fingers were the size of small chicken breasts. They were in the appetizers section of the menu, but it was a meal. And my friend had what she said was a delicious, thick burger. Our server was named Amy and she was great - very efficient, very attentive and nice and on the ball. The only complaint I had (again, other than the long wait to be seated) was that the lemonade was awful. It was not lemondade. It was lemon water. Very flat and tasteless. Otherwise, :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
