What do you think of ESPN. Is it a good place for an eleven year old and an eight year old. Would you recommend it. I have heard that you can play Playstation and X-Box there.:3dglasses Is that true? Thanks :rainbow: ::MickeyMo

11 and 8 year olds may like it there, but here is one 43 year old who does not. Bad food (even for bar food) and not worth the money.

Don't know about playing the games there.

My DH and I may be in the minority but we like it there. When we're there in september the steelers will be playing the 49ers, so we plan on having lunch there that day.

We really like the wings and nachos.

When will you be there? My boys would love to see a game. Do you know if they have playstation games at the tables? I have heard this. Thanks Chris : dance3:

Never been to the one in WDW, but the one here in DL is dreadful - I would never go again. Bad food, poor service, and they keep the temperature at arctic levels. I realize that I'm fairly sensitive to cold, but even my BF gets too cold in there.

Also - I'm not sure I'd reccommend for kids, if it's similar to the one in DL, it's dark, and decorated like a man's study or smoking room. Not very kid friendly, seems to me.

The one at the BWV is very kid friendly. Pretty bright, very loud. If they like sports there are tons of TV's playing all kinds. The wait staff have always been very friendly and talkative with my kids, and the other kids I've seen there. That said, it is arctic cold in there, bring a sweater. I used to love to food there, now I find it only OK, they have changed it in the last couple of years. The nachos and wings are really good though.

we love it there, but we are huge sports fans and love to go there and watch the games.

I think there are only a few tables (the booths on the bar side) that are equipped w/the PS games, and those are 1st come, 1st serve.

They have changed the menu in the past year, at the same time they 'dumbed down' all the other menus around WDW, and made them all more generic/uniform. They got rid of our favorite tuna on a pita, plus several other offerings that were widely enjoyed, such as the big bucket of wings. This is one strike against them in our book, but I know we'll be there anyway in October for the Giants Monday night game (hopefully the whole Michael Vick fiasco has been resolved by then b/c it's Giants vs Falcons), and (fingers crossed) will be there for any Mets playoff games during our stay!

oh, and it's completely different from any ESPN Zones that are around the country. The Club is much smaller and more intimate than the Zones.

That's correct. The Boardwalk has an ESPN Club, not Zone. We have an ESPN Zone here in Atlanta and I personally wouldn't take my 45 year old sports loving body through the front door. Way too many "sports fans" who feel like using a certain four letter word that starts with a "F" should be used every other word in a common sentence.

But the ESPN Club at Disney World is quite different. VERY family friendly. There's an arcade in the gift shop which is connected to the restaurant. The bar side really doesn't seem that bad unless there is a big game going on.

I recommend the place for the sports on all the time. If there's something you want to see, they will get it on a TV for you. Portions are huge so you might think about sharing things here. We usually will get a couple of appetizers and make that our meal. Excellent place for a later lunch or early dinner.

Just make sure your boys go to the bathroom. You might not ever see them again since TVs are in there too.

We have been there twice - ds was 9 and then 10. He loved it. There was a live ESPN broadcast both times which was fun. Ironically we sat at the same table both times and did not have game system. DS did not notice that other tables did so there must not be very many if any. He did play the games in the adjacent store. The food - OK. The price was kinds of steep. We paid about $50 for nachos, 2 sandwiches and sodas.

my family of 4 loves it here!! We are all huge sports fans so maybe that makes a difference. I love the atmosphere and the food is awesome!! Yes they do have playstation in the booths along the walls I believe.

We love it. In fact that's why DH agreed to a return trip to BWI this year.:rotfl: We've had the wings, nachos & burgers and all have been great, of course we're sports fans too!:thumbsup2

Another family here that loves the ESPN Club! It's our first night tradition. The slider burger is heavenly and don't even get me started on those wings!

I love this place!!! We always seem to be at WDW during the Frozen Four so I make it a point to go to the ESPN Zone during the Thursday Semifinals to eat and watch at least the first game. I have never had a bad mean or bad service. The only bummer is they have changed the menu and have gotten rid of some of my favorites (The Hockey Puck dessert was my personal favorite).

This is one place that is a must go to every year!

not the best food..but its a place to relax and look at the boardwalk..wings ar bad,,burgers are bland no taste,,but if you go at least you can say you were there.

We LOVE ESPN. Can't wait till out next trip back. Of course, we love sports and bar type food, so I guess that's why we like it so much.

Mmmm...beer, nachos, and sports! Their bloody mary's are good, too. We love going for the relaxed vibe. I've noticed kids in there, but I seem to notice more adults in there to chill and watch their hometown sports teams.

Thanks for all the good info. I think my boys would like it. I believe they do not take ressies. But maybe we will luck out and they will not be busy. Thanks Again Chris: yay:
