Can anyone provide a review for the ESPN resteraunt at the Bordwalk? I am taking some very picky eaters (they like basic food, nothing different) and I thought they might like this place, especially the 10 year old boys.

Also I was told walk up only no reservations. Do you think a party of 8 will have any trouble getting in around 5 PM in June?

TIA for any information you can share...

I have eaten there twice (once at Boardwalk in FL and once at DTD in CA). I had a good meal on both occasions. The menu is standard American restaurant fare but in comparison to the other theme restaurants (Har dRock, Planet HW, Rainforst) the food was better.

Just make sure you aren't there during a large sporting event like the Superbowl. You will have to get there very early to even have a shot at eating there.

Horrible! Worst non-park TS restaurant at WDW! We always stay in the Epcot resort area, so ESPN Club is convenient to go to. But, after a series of meals over the years, each of which was worse than the one before, I finally decided several years ago never to go back.

We actually like ESPN Club. It is typical Bar and Grill type of food, the burgers are very good and so is the chili cheese dog :cloud9:. My DH especially likes going here because it gives him a break from all the Princess and other character meals that we usually drag him to :rotfl:

We go to Disney the 1st week of June after school every year, and no you will not have trouble getting into ESPN, unsless there's some big game/play off thing going on. The food is not that great, whatever you do, don't get the Ceasar chicken salad. It's your typical loud sports bar w/ a tv in every possible spot imagenable, the kids will surely like it, the food is tolerable!

The burgers and the reuben aren't bad, enter at your own risk!

We never skip this restaurant...It's a must do for my husband and teenage son. In fact, they stayed four hours last time, while my Mom and I cruised the Boardwalk. Don't expect fancy food, but if you love sports, it's great to hang out there during a game. I ordered the wings and loved them. I guess it depends on why you're going there...food only, or sports, ambience, and then food...

We enjoy the ESPN club and usually eat here once on every trip. It has pretty basic fare so your picky eaters should be able to find something to eat.

The kids will like the food. Very basic bar and grill food. We enjoyed it very much.

My son prefers basic food too and he always enjoys the ESPN. Make sure the kids visit the bathroom before you go...my son thinks its sooo funny that there are televisions in every stall there!!!

Oh, the last few times I was there I got the Cuban burger I think and it was fantastic!

We like this restaurant and when paying out of pocket feel it's one of the better food values in all of WDW. Food you're used to, at prices you're used to paying, on a walk-in basis you're used to, and large portions you won't walk away hungry. The boys will love it and if you eat in a booth you get your own TV and you can get free game controllers if leave a room key/driver's license deposit. Don't forget to visit the restroom, it's interesting too.

Here's the menu:

I think it's like an Applebee's.

Enjoy!popcorn::

Just came back on Jan 10 and ate at ESPN on Jan 7 for lunch. Food was very good. Had chicken zingers and chili cheese fries. Both were very good. Alot of chicken in one order. Wish we had ordered more fries and less chicken.

thank you very much for the replys. I think we will give it a try. I am taking my dad, mom, little brother (10), sister, her boyfriend to WDW for the first time with us in June and I am so worried about the food. My family lives in a very small town and they do not leave it. They have never flown, been on vacation, or gone out to eat except for fast food every now and then. I booked ADR's for Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Sci-Fi, and T-rex. I figured they should be able to find something to eat at those places and then we will eat counter service the rest of the time. I will have to take my kids to other places though because my kids love different stuff. I sometimes wonder how I am related to these people. :lmao:

I live in a big city in another state, and love to travel and try new things. I am very excited to share my happy place with them. Now I just need to figure out how to get them on a plane by themselves without me. :headache:

We eat at ESPN almost every trip because of the atmosphere (sports). The food is just ok. I don't find it horrible, but I don't find it great. If you are on the dining plan, it's not a great TS value...but if you are OOP it is an inexpensive price for a TS.

We also enjoy the little trivia game that the "announcer" plays every half hour or so.

Normally we wait on the line outside to get into the dining room. The last trip, the line was very long and I went inside to check out the tables around the bar area. They have tables for four ... regular dining style...not high up and we ate there with no wait. Of course, it was not during a "big game" either, just summer.
