Escape VR question...

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere on here, but I am so confused about a few things. I am planning a VR and just doing a bit of research first. I know you can technically book a separate meal after the escape cake cutting ceremony, in place of a traditional reception. I also know that it is not included with an Escape wedding package but it can be done. While googling some things I'm finding some mixed info, I'm sure it's depending on the planner or the change of rules over the years etc. But I guess in a nutshell these are some of my questions.

Can you book a reservation as an 'event' at a restaurant for 20 or less people? If so how far in advance can you do it? Can it be booked with your DFTW planner? Can you have centerpieces etc. at a restaurant? Can you book one of the smaller rooms that are used for Wishes weddings and have a catered meal? I've read about beautiful escape weddings with very nice sit down meals at a restaurant, then I've also read that someone was told they couldn't make a reservation for a wedding meal from someone else (on a different board) :confused3 Its so funny because when I originally thought of doing an Escape VR I thought I didn't want a nice meal or anything afterwards, but then I read about how beautifully other Escape brides meals were after the ceremony and I changed my mind...;)

I guess the confusing part is that some people have been told 'no' to certain things on other message boards but on here I've seen other Escape brides have the EXACT thing that a different bride was told 'no' too (example: a sit down meal at Citricos for 20 people :confused3) YIKES!

You've got 2 options, you can either book a private reception through DFTW which lasts for 2 hours and you'd have a choice of a few venues. Or number 2 you can book a normal ADR through the normal way then contact the restaurant manager to help with extras.

You should be able to book a private dining event as well. We were considering a dinner at the marina at GF for our VR dinner. We have about 20 people.

Thanks for clarifying! :thumbsup2 I've just read so many contradictory things on many different message boards. I'm sure things will change over time because I know DFTW rules keep changing and some planners are a bit more rigid than others (from what I've read) Hopefully when it comes time for me to plan, I'll still be able to do all the things that I would like
