Ok I am REALLY thinking about changing my escape wedding to a wishes so that I can have all my family attend the ceremony (about 20 adults an 9 kids) But I am so concerned that given the new "wishes freedom of choice" I will go crazy and spend $$$$$ over my original budget of $11k. I still want to get married in WP so my question really is can I keep in the budget without the wedding looking like I cut corners to stay within my limit.

Here is what Im already doing
12 midday WP ceremony
MK & Epcot photoshoot
DP in epcot

What sort of prices are the smaller cakes? Do I get any more say in the design?

The photography packages offered by Disney are a bit too much time than I wanted, will they customise a package for me?

And I would like a lunch reception-any location ideas, without to much of a min spend.

Is it possible to organise the whole thing without having a planning session (as much as I would love another excuse to visit Mickey, me and my DF went out in Feb to sort the whole wedding out and he is now less than amused that I am changing my mind AGAIN!!!!!!

Thanks so much!!!:wizard:

we have 18 guests and so far our budget is 13k we have 2:30pm wp then whitehall room then uk lower. You will get a cheaper per person before 2pm than we do so i would say you can do it for your budget. we have cut anythng out, we have cindys carriage etc and thats nearly 3k!

We are going with an outside vendor for video and photos cos you get more for your money

From the looks of what you have listed, I think you'd be closer to $13k or $14k instead of your 11k budget. Here's why. THe photo shoots will not count towards your 10k min, so that'll be over and above. Also, it's 10k plus 20% service and gratuity plus tax, so the min is really about $12,500. That's not including all the extras you already know about like the license, officiant, attire, etc.

Ok, but the good news is, you could do an amazing wedding for 29ppl with that budget. Last year we were right at the min with a wedding for 35ppl with ceremony at WP, Illuminations reception including viewing fees and bus transportation. THe minimum for the venues for me wasn't as hard as the $100 food min per person for a Wishes wedding. But wth a DP that food counts too, so you should be ok.

Oh, and at least last year for me, there was no way to customize photograhpy - it was take it or leave it, but you did get some sort of discount if you did pictures and video from disney.

my mk photo shoot is included and its two days later, so it is included in your min spend

i thought the disney photographer for the wedding day was included with your min spend? :scared1:

will have to go back to the website now as i am worried!

Disney photography (and videography) of any kind - MK shoot, wedding, etc. - counts toward your minimum.

Also, the Wishes min per person is only $100 at Grand Floridian locations - it's $75pp everywhere else....

Going with outside photography and videography will save you a bundle and give you all the rights to your photos, but you'll be spending that on top of the $11K+ you give Disney.... We were only $70 over our minimum, and with taxes and service fees that came out to $11,700 we gave Disney - but if you pick different things than we did the amount of the service fees could go up or down.

phew! just checked the wishbook and yes photography is included in the min spend! :thumbsup2

we need to go with disney to make up our min spend so i had a heartattack for a second thinking i had got it wrong, glad that's sorted! :rotfl:
