Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

I didn't for me. But if you pick some uptoday...just take one and see what happens...:lmao:

Actually, I did 'test' it before my first cruise to make sure it didn't affect me in any way...didn't notice anything...but then I always feel a bit 'off' anyway..:lmao:
I didn't feel any effects either. But..I took it at night before bed and slept like a baby That can be trouble. Last time we cruised we had a wndow and I hated it. We will see if no window makes a difference.

Belle, how is your FIL today?

SEEWHAT we had a ton of kids this year and am disappointed I have no extra candy to eat!

yesterday was a great football day. The gators kicked Georgia's butt!yippee and TT beat TX in the last seconds. ahhh I love football. My husband said I should have been a man. Maybe!!:worship:

We're back!!!!! :wave2:

We got home yesterday at approx. 6:30pm, and as soon as I saw all the dead flowers that I have to pull out today, I immediately wanted to run back to Florida:laughing: Luckily, I did most of it before I left, but the ones that are left looked to nice to pull out earlier. So, I know what I'm doing today, along with all the laundry.

Let me sum up our vacation for you ----- :cold: :cold:
Record breaking (literally) :cold:
It was dry, but I was wearing gloves, because it was so :cold:
It was colder this trip, than what it was when Kevin and I went in January - CRAZY!!!!!

Here's a quick recap of our trip..........

The condo we stayed at was AWESOME!!! Wait till I show you the pictures. We had so much space, and I loved being able to have breakfast at the condo most of the time - it was nice to not have to rush to an ADR all the time. Plus, I didn't feel so stuffed all the time - it was great!!! Plus, it was great being able to keep alot of extra type of food too. Thanks to Tiiiigerrrnnnnn (a DISer from the Chicago thread), she gave me a tip to take Smuckers Unsmuckable frozen PB&J's into the parks - we did, and it was great, no buying lunch:thumbsup2 (thanks for that tip!!!) We kept water at the condo, so I would carry that to the parks everyday too, along with some Crystal Light lemonade pouches, which the girls loved. After we finished the water, I just filled it at water fountains. In conclusion - we will probably never be staying on property again, that's how much we loved it there!!!!! Very very happy!!!!!:goodvibes

Sunday we went to Sea World - this day was not to cold (mid 80's). We spent all day there, and it was fun. I can't say we'll be running back there the next time we are in Florida. But we enjoyed it this time. The girls enjoyed the dolphin show and the Shamu show - they were really good!!!! It was weird being in a park where I needed a map to get around - I felt like such a tourist:rotfl:

Monday we went to the MK - this day was cooler, and it got really cool/cold and windy at night. The crowds were alot more, which was annoying - I'm so spoiled with Septembers low crowds:rolleyes: But we played our cards right, and we didn't have to wait much. For the first time we had to get Fastpasses - we never get these in September. Katie was finally tall enough to go on rides with us, which was just great!!!!! For the first time, the girls did the Swiss Family Tree House - we always avoided this before (couldn't be bothered to waste the time on it). The girls enjoyed this!!!! Then we went on Pirates, and then Stephanie got to participate with Captain Jack at The Pirate Tutorialpirate: We then went on Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, avoided Fantasyland (to many people). Went to Tomorrowland where we did Stitch (I really don't enjoy that ride/show) and did the new Monsters Comedy thing, and we really enjoyed that!!!! Then we did the Carousel of Progress (first time for all of us), and then did Buzz. Went back to Fantasyland and did Small World, and then lined up for Spectromagic and then Wishes - that was our day in a nut shell!!!!

Tuesday was cold!!!
We hung out at the condo until 3pm, and while we where there, we could here the wind howl. Stephanie worked on some schoolwork that day, and then at night was the MNSSHP. We had 4:10pm ADR at LTT, and then after that we were able to hit rides we did Monday, and also the Fantasyland rides that we weren't able to do Monday - it was great!!! It was cold that night (see your breath cold) that we ended up leaving at 10:30pm. We were all freezing, and poor Katie was just miserable. We decided that even though we paid money to be there, it wouldn't be any fun if the girls got sick, and if they are obviously miserable from the cold. The cold really ruined that night for us!!!!!

Wednesday was cold too!!! I wore my gloves all day:guilty:
We were at MGM that day, and it was fun!!
The second I got there, I left the family at the front gate, and very briskly walked to Toy Story Mania to get a fastpass, and I was successful. At 10pm, the fastpass time was already at 2:30pm, and by 2:30pm when we rode it, the fastpasses were gone - very popular ride!!!!!
That day we did the new Playhouse Disney show (I wasn't thrilled with it), and the girls enjoyed it. Then we saw Muppets 3D, the cars stunt show, and then Toy Story Mania (which was a very cute and fun ride). After that we rushed to see the new parade (which I don't need to see again), and then we went on Star Tours (first time for Kevin and the girls). I had to really talk Katie through Star Tours, she was not enjoying it:sad2: . After that we walked towards ToT, so I could go on that, and then we could sit down for Fantasmic. As I was about to go on ToT, Katie says that she wants to come:eek: This is the kid that was just freaking out over StarTours. So I measured her up, and she could go. She ended up LOVING the ride:eek: As soon as we were done, she wanted to go again:eek: I was SHOCKED!!!!! Then we sat down for Fantasmic, and we froze sitting there. Even Kevin was freezing, and he is rarely freezing. After that we rushed to the car, cranked up the heat, and went back to the condo, and we all went to bed.

Thursday we were at Epcot and this was a nice day. The weather started off cold, but I was able to take off my jacket in the afternoon. The first thing I did was run to The Land to get a fastpass for Sorin, and then we did Spaceship Earth, which slightly changed - it was refreshing!!!! Then we did Ellens Energy Adventure, and then got fastpasses for Test Track. We then walked around the countries and did Maelstrom for the first time, and also watched the American Adventure show for the first time. We then walked to Japan where Stephanie and I picked an oyster. Both of our oysters had the largest pearl for the day, which was awesome. Stephanie put hers in a youthful type necklace, and I put mine in a pin. We then walked back to Test Track, where Katie went on for the first time - she just sorta liked it. Then we went and ate at The Garden Grill, and then did Sorin - this was Katie's first time for this also, and she LOVED it!!!!! We then walked back to Japan to get the pearls, and then sat and waited for Illuminations. We parked at The Poly that day, so when we got back there to leave, we went to Captain Cooks to get a Dole Whip, and it tasted it yummy!!!!!

Friday was Animal Kingdom day, and it was a little warmer that day (no gloves and I could wear capris:woohoo: ). We went on the safari, and many animals were out - it was great, and the girls enjoyed it. Then we walked over to Expedition Everest and got a fastpass for that. Stephanie didn't want to go, but I told her to bad, she's going anyway. Then we went on Dinosaur, and we all hated that. The girls were scared, and Kevin and I didn't like how jerky it was - my neck really hurt afterwards - we'll never go on that again:sad2: Then we went to see It's Tough to be a Bug, and I enjoyed that. I never saw the whole thing before, because I had to leave with Stephanie when she was 4, because she was scared. We went back to the EE, and did that, and we all loved it, even Stephanie. We then left after that, because we really don't enjoy that park (no offense to those that do like it). So we went back to Epcot, and did Sorin again, Kevin and Steph did Test Track again, and then we did Journey into Imagination, and then Spaceship Earth again - we left at 6pm.

Then Saturday we went to DTD to pick-up a couple last minute things and then went to the airport to come home.

I didn't talk about the food...........
Saturday afternoon - Sonic and it was great!!!!
Saturday night - House of Blues (we like it there both there and Chicago)

Monday morning - Chef Mickeys. We'll never be back. The price raised to $28.99 per adult, and the food was NOT WORTH that money:sad2: I never loved the food there, and I liked it even less this year. This is definitly our last year there.
Monday night - Kona Cafe. This was okay, but the prices raised there too. I was looking forward to their filet, but that was no longer on the menu. This will be our last time eating here for dinner too. I would have been happier at The Olive Garden close to our condo.

Tuesday night - Liberty Tree Tavern. The price here also raised to $28.99 per adult, but I do love this meal. This is the last year for the characters, so I will be curious if this price stays the same for 2009. If it does, than we won't be back, if the price goes down, than we will.

Wednesday night - SciFi. It cost us over $100 to eat here, and we won't be back here either. The atmosphere is great, but the food is not worth the money. They didn't have any hamburgers on the dinner menu, but I knew they did for lunch, so I asked if I could have it, and they said yes. I didn't know the price, since I didn't have that menu, but Kevin and I both ordered it, and I thought the price would be lower. I was SHOCKED when we got the bill. Kevin did order 1 alcholic drink, but still - OMG!!!!!! We won't be back:sad2:

Thursday morning we at Kona Cafe for breakfast so Kevin and I could get our Tonga Toast - that was awesome as normal!!! We will be back there!!!!! ::yes::
Thursday night - Garden Grill. The price there also raised to $28.99 per adult, and I do love this character meal. I don't agree with the cost, but I do enjoy it, so we will probably be back there.

Friday afternoon we picked up McDonalds and ate it in the car between AK and Epcot.
Friday night we at Chevy's, which is outside Disney property, and it's a Mexican restaurant - it was very yummy!!!!!!

In conclusion, about the food, we were very disappointed in how much WDW raised the prices for food. Business wise, I can understand why they do it. This was they can raise the price for the dining plan, and people pay it, and never look back. People like Kevin and I, who don't have the dining plan suffer, but that's okay. We've come to the conclusion a long time ago that we don't love alot of the food on property anyway, so we'll just eat off property and save ALOT of money. Now that Katie is getting older, I don't feel the need to do as many character meals anyway, so it works out fine :thumbsup2 I just wish I knew the price increases before we went this year, or I wouldn't have booked as many character dinners, but you live and learn right?!

In the end, we had a really great trip!!!
Katie didn't use a stroller the whole trip, which was great!!!:thumbsup2
Katie got to ride all the rides, which was great!!!!:thumbsup2
We tried new things, which was great!!!!
We loved the condo, which was great!!!!
Everything was great!!!!

Now I must get some breakfast on the table.
I will catch up on what I missed tomorrow while I eat my lunch.
Have a great day everyone!!

Slo, Welcome back! Which condo did you rent?

Cheeringmom---NC B. called his Dad last night. His Dad was tired, but his pain is less and his doctors are trying to reduce his pain medicine. We will probably see him after Thanksgiving.

SEEWHAT we had a ton of kids this year and am disappointed I have no extra candy to eat!

Aww, buy yourself some extra candy next year "just in case" :rotfl: Your gators are kicking butt too!

Slo - welcome back! I'm glad you had a good time. Tonga toast is the best :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear about your dining experiences though. We had good food while we were there but I did notice that it was more expensive than I had planned for. My mom and I split a milkshake at 50's prime time and it was six dollars! Then we were supposed to leave a 15 percent tip so it was about ten bucks. Next time we'll bring more food with us and save

NC Beast and I split a PBJ shake at 50s and it was still $4.95.

We ate half of the time at the condo (Publix has a great bakery and deli). The on property eating: Flame Tree(dh--rib platter, beef sandwichfor me, split onion rings and key lime pie), LTT (lunch-2 entrees, 2 sodas), 50s (lunch--1 milkshake, 2 entrees, 1 smores), Beaches and Cream (split burger, banana split, 1 soda, 1 water), T-Rex (Tropical Cotton-tini for me, 1 coke, shared nachos), Boma (breakfat), Tambu Lounge (Pina Colava for dh, Sunken Treasure for me, 1 order of chicken wings), and Rose and Crown (dinner-lamb for him, fish/steak for me, 2 sodas). We did about $60-70 in Food and Wine sampling. It was a bit disappointing in serving sizing/pricing. We like the Cheddar Cheese soup the best. The pina Colada from the San Juan booth---rip off pricing/serving.

We had Chick-a-fila once and the MC Donald's by the All Stars.

Thanks for all the welcome homes!!!!!:goodvibes

I am so sore from being so busy yesterday.
The weather was awesome (warmer than some days at WDW), and I really took advantage of it. All flowers are now pulled out, all hostas & daylilies are now cut down, all pots and lawn ornaments are now put away, and all pool furniture and deck items are all put under a large tarp. The yard is officially ready for winter. Than I came in the house and started unpacking and doing laundry - it was a very productive day!!! :woohoo:

Belle - We were at Westgate Lakes that is located about 10 minutes outside of DTD. It was so easy to find, that I would be totally comfortable going there with just the girls, in case Kevin couldn't get off work and go. It was a great place!!!!!:thumbsup2
**How was T-Rex? The wait was so long, that we decided to not go, and try it another time.

SeeWhat - I wanted to get a shake and SciFi and it was $6 too  I didn't get it, and hoped for a smaller bill, but in the end, we still spent $100 for a not so great meal. I was so disappointed!!!!:guilty: We actually have the opposite idea of you. We are saving less, and eating at places outside of Disney property. When we ate at Chevys (one of our best meals on vacation) it cost us $45 - if we did that on property, we would have spent over $100. We are pretty much done with Disney dining:guilty:

Well, I gotta go workout, because it's been almost 2 weeks since I worked out last:eek: I thought I was sore now - I'll be even more sore later. Oh well, I guess that's what Advil is for:laughing: Have a good day!!!

Welcome Home SLO!! We really missed you. One time I couldn't even find the thread w/o you!! Sounds like yo had a great time. It was cold down here poor thing!!

We dont' do a lot of restaurants at Disney. We think they are too expensive. We will do a character meal once during the trip but almost $30 per adult is crazy for a buffet!

Belle glad to hear your FIL has less pain. Poor man. Please keep us updated on his progress.

SEWWHAT I need more candy like I need a hole in the head.:rotfl:

Hi Wally and Ibounce

We leave on Friday for the cruise. I am running around like a chicken. Does anyone know where I can get some pins w/o a Disney store? Dee is making a lanyard for pin trading for Lauren and we have never collected them. It would be fun though!

Well, I can find out where some of my cruise mates sent for pins...but I don't know if you have enough time to get them. I'll come back with the info.

Thanks Jackie. No biggie. I can get a few on the boat too I guess. We used to have a Disney outlet store but it closed like all the others. They had great pins there. I am not sure Lauren would want to trade anyway. The stuff she usually has she loves. But thanks so much. I can check dollar stores too if I have time. Sometimes they have disney stuff.

Thanks for all the welcome homes!!!!!:goodvibes

Hmm, I hadn't given much thought to eating off property. I guess I get sucked into the "you have to do everything on property!" mentality. I'll look up some good restraunts next time near our hotels and see what I can come up with. We'll be going to Universal for two days *gasp* and citywalk always has good food so we can save there too.

SEWWHAT I need more candy like I need a hole in the head.:rotfl:

:rotfl2: Well put!

Have an awesome time on your cruise! Are you going to make a TR?

CMOM - especially before a cruise which is non stop food.. I found that I tended to eat like a hobbit.. all the time!!
tell Dee hi for me.. i am not sure that you can order on the internet for the cheap pins and get them in time. I could send you some of mine but same issue.. not enough time to get them packed up and shipped. Is there an outlet by you that has some pins? You'll get one with the castaway gift.

Hi guys,
My dis friend Emma and I got the details through today for our VIP trip to Disneyland Paris at the weekend. OMG we are being treated well!! We are being given a huge 7 seater top of the range (DVD player, cruise control, sat nav) to drive there. We are being put up in one of the deluxe hotels for 2 nights with 3 day hopper passes. We have tickets to a VIP party (transport provided to the park, which is a 5 minute walk away!) for 3 hours after the park has closed. The rides are staying open, there is a live band, fireworks and a live band!! Plus we are being given half board vouchers (= to free dining, we already get a full breakfast inc cooked breakfast included in the hotel package as standard at DLRP)

The only problem is that, as you all know, my school is waiting for it's next inspection (I am so sick of these!) which we thought would have happened by now (we were told October) So knowing my luck we will get the call on Thursday for the inspection on Monday which I won't be ble to prepare for (I have prepared Monday already just in case!)

I wanted to see Barack Obamas speech last night, but I just didn't make it - to tired and fell asleep. Kevin gave me a nudge when he came on the stage, and I opened my eyes, and then they shut again - just to tired!!!!! :faint:

Our whole family was really into watching the election results. I let Stephanie stay up to see him win, and I'm glad I did (I didn't let her stay up to see him speak, just until 10pm, which was long enough to see him declared victorious). This is a historic election, and I'm she is old enough to possibly remember it.

Awww.....thanks!!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes
I bet you are getting so excited about your cruise :sail: When we were driving to and from and WDW we kept seeing the Disney Cruise Line busses and we kept talking about our trip from 2007. We are looking forward to doing a cruise again sometime in the next 4 years.

SeeWhat - Yes, I got sucked into that mentality too, but the prices I paid was such a slap in the face, that it woke me up, and told me to go elsewhere. I've been to CityWalk before, and we ate at Jimmy Buffets - it was pretty good. I've always wanted to go to Emerils - I like him:)

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and get this day started
Have a great day today!!!

Hi guys!!

Dana, wow. that sounds like a trip made in heaven!! Don't stress about your school. just go out and have a great time

SLO I didn't wait up either. It was a done deal before I went to bed. I did watch McCain's speech this am. It really was a beautiful speech. If he could have only done that during the election he may have fared better.

ibounce thanks for cleaning our your pm box!!!:rotfl:

we leave in two days. Too mcuh to do. Talk to you later.

I have a few places I want to eat on Disney property and some new restaraunts i'd like to try but I think we'll go to the grocery store first thing and get snacks. I don't mind paying for dinner (which usually runs about 40-70$) but i'd like to bring our own snacks. I should make a food budget :rotfl:

The one thing I love about Citywalk is they have a Cinnabon! Come on Disney, get with the delicious cinnamon roll goodness!

My employee (the new one) made me so mad yesterday. I had her scheduled yesterday, because Stephanie wanted to play basketball, and I needed to go pick-her up at 4:15pm. The employee calls me at 3:55 and says she is running late, because she got tied up at school, and that she'll be at work no later than 4:15. I wasn't happy, but I thanked her for calling me. At 4:25pm there is still no employee, and now Stephanie is calling me wondering where I am. I was so mad!!!! I called the employee and left a message on her cell that I wasn't happy, and now I have to leave the store vacant, and she didn't need to come in anymore that night. So I picked Stephanie up a 1/2 hour late, and then I had to pick-up Katie at daycare, which meant I had t leave the store for a little over a 1/2 hour - I wasn't happy!!!!!! It's times like this that I miss Kevin working close to home - I miss him being able to help me out with things like this. Oh well, we managed, but I hope the employee doesn't plan on doing this again, or she won't have a job:mad:

cheeringmom - One day left :sail:
Are you sailing The Wonder or The Magic?
I won't see you anymore before you leave, so let me say - Have a great trip!!!! :cool1: I wish you great weather, lots of fun, and don't eat to much (I did on my cruise - that Pinocchios pizza was my downfall:laughing: ) I can hardly wait to hear all about it!!!!!:goodvibes

SeeWhat - MMMMmmmmmmm Cinnabon!!!!!!:goodvibes

Well, I gotta go get Stephanie up for school:teacher:
I didn't get up early today, myself, because I'm still not 100% from that cold I had before vacation. I got better, but never 100%, especially after I was walking around in the cold in Florida. Now I'm starting to wonder if I have a sinus infection:confused: I should go to the doctor too.

Have a good day!!!

I am fairly new and want to escape to Neverland!!!!!
