Hi,

I know with an Escape wedding you do not receive a reception like you would with a Wishes but I would like to have a dessert party. I was wondering if you can extend the dessert party and include a dinner with cake cutting after? Has anyone done this or will be doing this or has any info on it? Also, is anyone having a reception with centerpieces, DJ/IPOD, cake cutting, etc. after their Escape ceremony? If you have or will, does your planner still help, how long is the reception, can you still request a DJ?

(We were planning a Wishes but do to our big move from Miami to Chicago and buying our dream house we might have to down grade the wedding.)

Thanks, :thumbsup2

From what I understand from what my planner told me you can have a recetion but you're limited to 2-3 hours and my planner said that it usually just enough time to have everyone seated, serve the meal, cut the cake and take pictures. That dancing and all the things we'd want in a full reception were more for wishes brides.

But you can have an iPod setup for music which is much less than hiring a dj.

I asked about this and I was initially told it would be fine, and then I got a call back and they told me that only Wishes brides can have a dinner/dessert party. They said I could do a welcome dinner/dessert party but would not let me do it for the reception. I would say keep asking because everyone seems to get different answers, and eventually someone will get to do it.

We're having a dinner at 6pm at Ariel's. We're bringing an iPod and a dock and just going to set up shop hehe. Dinner ends at 8, then everyone is going to walk on over to Epcot for the dessert party. It's not quite what you were asking, but definitely an option since I don't believe Escape brides can have what you're asking.
