How flexible can you be with the cake? Can you get different colors or add anything to the cake without getting charged for a custom cake?

I'm pretty sure they will allow some minor flexibility...but not a whole lot.

I think they will do what they can to coordinate with your colors (when you decide on them;) ) and, of course, the flavors. But I think you are kinda stuck a bit with the shape and frosting style.

I have heard of some brides requesting fondant instead of the buttercream frosting and they are charged a nominal fee (I want to say $75, but I'm not entirely sure).

I know the white chocolate castle topper is extra as well.

What kinds of changes are you thinking of?

I would like to change the flower color to my colors (of course when I pick some) and maybe add like a ribbon type look around the center with my main color. It is kinda hard to explain, but I want my cake to look a little more colorful than the standard that is given.

Sarah,

What you want sounds completely doable with minor (if any) charges. Of course, I'm not the one making the decision;) .

Make sure you have a photo of what is close to what you want and talk with either your coordinator or Rosie and I'm sure you will be okay!

Your request is doable, but you will need to pay for the fondant icing upgrade. Any type of fabric ribbon will absorb the moisture from the standard butter cream icing, and will look stained. Your EM will ask you to provide the ribbon. 2 yards will be plenty.

Basic sugar floral color changes can be done (red or white roses instead of pink), but custom coloring will cost extra. If you have picked out fresh floral, ask your EM to inquire as to the charge to have Disney floral provide fresh for your cake.

I though I read somewhere that they match the flower(s) on the standard escape cake to whatever arrangement you choose. Obviously, I could be wrong :lmao: since I'm not sure where I read this and I can't find it right now.

Sorry, this is incorrect. All escape cakes come with pink roses. If you want to match your arrangements with the cake floral, you should order extra fresh floral for your cake. Sugar flowers will only come close and will not match exactly.

I wish that was the case. I didn't ask for anything re: the cake and this is what I received. I would have rather the standard pink shown on the website to match my bouquet. I had neither a matching cake, nor standard pink. There's an old thread kicking around with numerous different intimate cake pics. It seems that there's an element of randomness to the design if you don't specifically ask for something.

ETA: I guess you could say the cake matched because it was all cream. But if you saw the picture of the entire table decorated (which is what I thought was decorated to match your colours) it was in reds and yellows (which in my mind doesn't go woth pink). HTH!

I have to say I agree with ForKeeps...unless the policy has changed recently.

I asked for nothing with regard to my cake (except the flavors, of course) and my cake had white roses and green leaves. No other colors.

I've said this before, but I believe that unless there are specific requests, the pastry chefs are allowed some form of expression in the finishing touches of the cakes. This makes each one unique...a hallmark of sorts of the DFTW.

Your wedding must have been sometime around Christmas. The bakery tries to do a more holiday theme at that time. Your cake looks to have white poinsettia's on it.
