Hello All! My DF and I are starting to look into having an Escape Wedding. We know this is what we want to do, but are having a hard time selling the deal to my parents. Has anyone else had this problem?

I want to get as much info as possible to present to her before I bring it up again. So, my main question is (and if i'm being too nosey, please tell me!) how much does everything actually cost? I know the base $4500 and what that includes, but what about taxes and tips, if applicable?

Is there a discount on rooms for everyone with the wedding party?

Has anyone had a 'reception' dinner at Ohana? If you have, how was it?

Has anyone had more than 18 actually come to WDW, but not attend the wedding? We are thinking that other people can come but maybe just attend the reception and then spend some time in WDW.

Thanks!

hi there! The Escape wedding includes a ceremony location, a bridal bouquet a boutiner for the groom, a violonist, and ummmm like a few pics I think?Oh anda cake and one bottle of Champagne. It does NOT include an officiant which you can add for like 250$ or bring your own, but then they count as one of your guests.

You will need to add extra champagne if you are having 18 guests, you can add on the Magic Kingdom Photo shoot which is like 1000$ I think, then most people do a luncheon after (you mentioned Ohanans?) a lot of people also add in an outside photographer videographer, since the package w/ Disney only offers minimal pics. You have a LOT of add ons that can add up very quickly here is what WE were looking at:

my number 1 request was an illuminations dessert party at Epcot ~1500ish

I wanted to add- Rolls Royce (800ish)
Mickey & Minnie (1200ish)
Flower petals for stages exit and for aisle (?$$)
MK shoot (1000ish)
Outside photos & video (depends on who you use)
Randy Chapman and STVS have some nice packages for combined phots & video

The only guests that wont count are guests under 2 years old, they do not make any exceptions for Escape weddings to go over the 18.

so really you could be anywhere from 4500 to well over 10K if you keep adding on!

Thanks so much for your reply! I think the only extras we would want to add would be an Epcot Photo Shoot and the champagne. We are going for minimal addons, since we are doing this as an alternative to a huge, formal, expensive wedding.

Where is the Illuminations dessert party held and what does that include? That sounds like a great idea as well!

Thanks so much and anyone else who would like to chime it, go for it! :goodvibes
