O.K. so I was thinking of the CR for either beginning of December or second week of November. My main question is whether or not there is an escalator or a glass elevator in the Tower. My mom will not get in a regular elevator. She is always willing to walk a couple of floors or get in a glass elevator.

Also, do you know if Bay Lake Tower will have either? Thanks so much.

In the Tower it's a regular elevator that goes to all the floors, so it's not a glass elevator. Now they do have an escalator that goes from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor and to the 4th floor, however there are no guest rooms located on those floors. I would also assume that Bay Lake Tower is going to have regular elevators that go it's various floors and nothing else, because they did not build any stores or restaurants inside there.

Thanks so much for the information...just one more thing. So if we get a garden room, she could get to the monorail floor using an escalator. Or I know it's not guaranteed, but if we were in the tower and had a room on the 5th or 6th floor, she would only have to walk either 1 or 2 flights via the steps.

If you stay in the Garden Wing this is what you do when going to the Monorail station. Walk to the lobby of the Tower and you will see two esclators one that goes up and one that is coming down. Take the one which goes to the 2nd floor and from there get on the next set of esclators that goes to the 4th floor. Finally once your there walk over to the ecslators for the Monorail station.

Also you should make a request for a 1st floor room in the Garden Wing if you don't want to deal with an elevator, just remind your mom that it's only a request which means it might not happen. However since there are only 3 floors in the Garden Wing it would not be a long ride.

Also, if staying in the garden wing, you can use the stairs since there are only three stories. The stairwell is right next to the elevator bank.

The stairwells in the TOWER are located at the ENDS of the tower, and OUTSIDE and are not really intended to be used for guests (they are really only to be used in case of fire).

If you definitely want to stay at Contemporary, the Garden wing will suit your mother just fine. NO NEED for elevator ride when staying there. :thumbsup2

What about the third floor, or isn't there actually one?
