Here we go again. I hate it when they put my house in the center of the cone of uncertainty! The whole State is in the cone. Good news- It should be gone by Thursday. I'd better go get some more batteries, water and gas.

Hope everythings ok for you...I have to admit I was kinda hoping it wouldnt come here (Louisiana). we were in Rita and I dont think I can take a week of power outages again in this heat.
:sad2:

I'm in South Florida and the media is in full panic mode already. They say the same thing over and over. "Don't panic and we'll keep an eye on it." How many times do we have to hear, "Keep an eye on it." Just put that cone of death directly down the center of Florida now, but tell everyone not to panic. What's really a bummer is this is the holiday weekend. I'm supposed to get a rental car and drive to Altanta to visit SFoG. But if they shut down the city, then it won't happen.

I've got my fingers crossed for ya's.....we have a lot of family scattered in Fla....keep thinking positive :goodvibes

when they post a mandatory evacuation for the Keys, why doesn't that include idiot television reporters?

I'm such a whiner...I lost power last night for about 3 hours (thunderstorm) and I just couldn't stand it!

lindalinda.

I'm a fellow kentuckian. We had a good storm last night/this morning around 3 or 4 a.m. We didn't lose power though. What region of Kentucky are you from? I'm from Northern Kentucky.

When there is a mandatory evac of the Keys does anyone leave?

^^ Yes everyone has to evacute! The Lord will be with us......

"GO AWAY ERNESTO"

Oh yeah, the keys has to leave, and most people will after what happened last year. Now it looks like the path will take it along the east coast.

Dade and Broward schools are closed Tuesday (yet it will be sunny).
Gas lines are already long, with about 30 cars going down the street at each station. Everyone is stocking up, stores are packed. Welcome to panic city.

We are flying in Thursday night & getting there Friday morning. Staying at HRH.

Hopefully Ernesto will be gone by then.

Well, looks like the cone shifted to SE FLA, right near me I think ...
but I feel confident, since when does it actually hit where the cone is lately? :confused3

It's moving pretty fast and should be out of here by Friday. We are staying at RPR Fri. and Sat then PBH Sunday. We might see you at the HRH Dive-Ins Sat. night?

Ernesto has been down graded to a heavy dew! It hasn't even rained a half inch here. :umbrella: :sunny:

What a joke that turned out to be. You had to be down here watching the news cast. The weather people at each station so desperately wanted the storm to be bigger. They kept saying it could strengthen, it could intensify. Yet all it amounted to was a rain shower. We've had bigger cold fronts move thru here. Looks like I'll get to drive to Atlanta this weekend. Weather should be perfect for the holiday.

Indeed, Ernesto turned out to be nothing must a minor inconvinence. So many places closed their doors for the day and for what? A rainstorm that we get regularly.

Some businesses gained profit from the others' closures. :teeth:

Am I to assume WDW & Universal both stayed open during Ernesto's visit?? :confused3 Was glad to hear it wasn't bad at all......for all you and our family living there..... :teeth:

The dive-in movie is Sat night?? Was Friday last year. I will try to be there, whatever night it is!! My kids loved that. I need to call the HRH; I reserved the yellow submarine cabana and I can't remember if it was Sat or Sunday. I need to get my act together!!

Ernesto has now been downgraded from a tropical depression to a tropical feeling-slightly-crabby-and-a-little-out-of-sorts.
