I see there are a few different ones: a regular; sport; new generation What is the difference i don't really see any?

Also, Please post pics if you have them. The back position looks awfully low, do they really like it? Seems like the side one would be more used?
And where did you find them? I don't see anywhere outside of the internet to buy them?

thanks

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to share but once I mastered getting them on my back, it was the best. I practiced while sitting on the couch. My girls are too big now, but I used my Ergo up until they were almost 3 and they were around 35-40 pounds. I believe mine was just the regular one.

I have a BECO, and I carried my soon t be 3yr old on my back. She needed to go to sleep, and that was the only way I got her down. If you ahve an older child I would only carry on the back. I also used the carrier for my then 8mos old. He was in the front position. I will be taking that same carrier for this trip ina couple of weeks. It's nice to ahve it, for long rides or anything. Plus my now 18mos old would rather look were he is going, so he will be on my back too!

I had the Ergo Next Generation. DD was about 18 months in the photos below, but we used the Ergo until she was about 3-1/2. We both loved it. We preferred the back carry and once you (and the child) figure out how to get into it, it's no big deal at all. It was so much easier/more convenient than a stroller that I didn't even take a stroller into the parks on two days. I carried her all day without any pain at all.

I felt that the positioning was right. She was seated deep enough in the carrier that I felt she was very secure. She could see over my shoulder if she really wanted to (especially as she got a little taller), or she could lean against my back and take a nap.

We loved our Ergo.

I think we just have a regular Ergo. I didn't know there were different kinds. My daughter is 15 months and stopped riding in hers at around 10 or 11 months when she started wanting to face out. Now she rides facing out in the Trekker. She hated the back position, so we never used it, and I found the hip position awkward, so I just carried her on the front. Lots of my friends with toddlers carry them on the back and they like it, but it didn't work for my picky toddler. And I would check specialty baby stores for them, like little boutiques. That's where I got mine and it's the only place I've seen them.

That doesn't look like she is swished it your back of course she is taller than then real little ones I've seen. Our dd w/ only be about 5 mths for disney. I really hate shelling out that much for a week of use unless I find uses later. My 2 yr old would never get it that. She is toooo strong willed. I can barely get her in the cart most of the times she walks and we do what she wants :confused3 (yes I know) eventually we get her to follow us. I do wish it was front facing but then again if it's not good, i don't want to.
Thanks for the pic

Just wanted to let you know that I have a VERY STRONG WILLED 3yr old. She has been like that since she was a yr and half. She is very independent, but she loved being carried in the carrier. Just wanted to throw that out to you, you might be surpised.

My DD (the one in the photos) is also very strong willed. She can give me fits sometimes... okay, a lot of times! There were times that she would have preferred to walk, too... but she preferred the Ergo to a stroller. When you're at stroller level, you only see people's knees. She wanted to be up where she could see what was going on.

I bought my carrier from this site: http://myfavoritebabycarrier.com/ They offer a 90-day money back guarantee. Perhaps you could try it and see how it works for you?

We used ours a *lot* -- including stores, apple picking, walks, etc. Once we got the Ergo, we rarely used a stroller.

I bought one on ebay for $25. It wasn't a real Ergo, but a knock off, and it works great. I've been using it for a year now.

If you're worried about the height of the back, go with a Beco Butterfly 2 instead. We love our Beco! Use it all the time with my 18 month old, but can also put my 4.5 year old in it (though I typically don't).

You definitely don't. Facing out, if you ever look at how those carriers just dangle kids by their pelvis instead of creating a nice *seat*, you can just imagine what they are doing to the bones in that area. The Ergo is called the ergo because it's ergonomic, and it's not doing damage to the pelvis. It's also better for the parent's body.

My son, who has always been very social, LOVED facing me in whatever carrier I used when I still wore him on my front. Why? Because he could see behind me, and as anyone who has sat rear-facing on a train knows, you get a MUCH better, and longer, view seeing where you've been rather than where you're going. Plus, he got to interact with people behind me, and they weren't embarrassed to be making silly faces while facing *me*, and he got great enjoyment out of that. He was far more social like that, and if someone creeped him out he could just put his head down on my chest. :)

Now I'm just trying to figure out the difference between the regular and the sport one???

My kids love it! DD started riding in it last winter when she was 18 mo. and DS rode in it too (he had just turned 5 but was not 35 lbs. yet.

At 18 mo. DD mostly rode on my back, but at Disney last Feb. she was forward facing if asleep.

We got our Ergo before our trip to DisneyLand when DD was 14 months - it was awesome, I just wish we got it earlier! :) We wore it everywhere and it was super comfortable. I prefer to do a front carry (mostly because with back carry, the strap can dig into your belly and make it look chubbier than I'd like ;)). DH prefers back carry. Our girls don't seem to have a preference, and they're totally comfortable either way. Front carry is obviously best for rides. We use it ALL THE TIME for DD2 (we use our strollers a lot, too). She's a big girl, so we may try out the side carry soon to be prepared for WDW (she's heavy to hold for even a few minutes!)... the only reason we haven't is that I haven't tried to figure out how to do it. Anyway, I love love love the darn thing, and my favorite thing is that they are SO easy to resell that if you really didn't like it, you'd probably get most of your money back. :)

Now I'm just trying to figure out the difference between the regular and the sport one???

From what I read, on the Sport model, the waist belt and shoulder straps are slightly longer (adjust to a greater maximum size) compared to the Next Gen. The sleeping hood (which I never used) is detachable on the Sport. The zipper on the pocket of the Next Gen model is replaced by a velcro closure -- also, from the photo, it looks like the pocket is much smaller than the one on the Next Gen. The stitching on the Sport is done in a contrasting color instead of matching the fabric color.

I was recently given an Ergo, but am not too sure about it yet. It seems like there is a learning curve with it. How long did it take all of you to figure out how to get it on and your baby in it, especially the back carry? It takes me so long to figure it out right now that my 15 mos old DD is completely annoyed with me by the time I get it all situated and wants out. Any tips would be great!

I didn't ever use the back carry, but I carried my DD constantly in it last year when she was almost 7 months (and close to 18 lbs!!). I LOVED it -- totally saved my back. I borrowed one to take on this trip, but now she likes to walk too much  so we just did in & out of the stroller. I did try it one day to walk onto Pirates since she was sleeping & I was hoping to get her to go back. It didn't work but it was WAY easier to carry her in that than in my arms!!! Even at almost 28 lbs and almost 34"!!

and the main reason I loved it -- I just kept her in there while on rides!!

we used a Becco when we took our just turned 2yo to disney last time. LOVED it. Our 8 yo dd had just gotten leg cast off from breaking her leg a month prior to our trip and I wanted to make sure to be able to use the stroller for her if she got tired.

she was very comfortable either way

We have the regular Ergo and have used since our now 3 1/2 yr old DD was about a year old. During winter months, the Ergo sees daily use as I use it to carry Avery in order to walk our older DD back and forth to school in her snowsuit and all. LOL

I love the carrier! Now that DD is 38 inches, I only ever use the back carry but can easily get her on and off by myself. I haven't ever tried the side carry but when she was smaller, we used the front carry the majority of the time.

We bought ours directly from Ergo but it was considered a "Second" so was marked down. Only issue was that they didn't think the color was just the right shade of maroon! LOL Looks just fine to me though. :confused3
