I have two rental cars reserved one with Dollar (Pacifica for 5 days @ $171 including taxes & fees) and I have one with National (Equinox for 5 days @ $145 including taxes and fees).

Which would you pick?

The gang includes me, dh, dss12, dd13, and dd's bf so room is important and so is price. I really didn't want to spend over $150 and National puts me in that catagory but I've never checked out the Equinox but according to their site it only holds 2 small pieces of luggage. DD has that many pieces all by herself. :rotfl:

In my opinion, they are both kind of small for 5 people and all their luggage. The rental car companies call the pacifica a premium car, but it's not that big on space. We had originally been going betwwen a pacifica and a mid-sized SUV (trailblazer) for our trip, consisting of 4 adults and 1 child and switched to a mini van for the room. We had 5 pieces of normal sized luggage and a few small pieces of carry on and we all fit in the mini van with minimal space to spare.

You may want to research online and see how big the cargo/trunk spaces actually are.

I own a Pacifica and with 5 people you can drop one of the third row seats for extra space. As long as you are not travelling long distances with all of your luggage, you should be fine.

I think it depends on how much luggage you'll have. I own a Pacifica and we're a family of 5. There's not a lot of extra space when everyone is in the car. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the Equinox. We rented a 7 passenger minivan (Dodge Caravan maybe?) a couple of weeks ago and it was perfect for us and all of our stuff, but we also had a stroller in addition to all of our luggage.

My dh has an Equinox. We are able to hold 2 britax car seats which are big and my other daughter. As well as numerous boxes and such. It looks small from the outside but is really big inside. My dh picked this one for work b/c it holds so much. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!!!

I think I'm going to go with the Equinox.

1) It's under $150.00

2) We don't have a lot of luggage because we'll only be there 5 days and we're packing light because we're staying at OKW and have a washer/dryer in our villa and it's not like we're going to spend a lot of time riding in it. The kids won't die if they have to sit close to each other. ;)
