Hi
Thought I would provide my experience that it may help someone else in their plans.

My wife and I was excited for the new park. But we were very disappointed. The express pass was sold out. We thought we got there early enough in order to purchase, but they were all gone 30 minutes after rope drop. It took us that long to get in. Oh well, hopefully we won't need it.

Our 1st stop was Nintendo world. It is too small. My wife is in a scooter and there was just not enough room. There were a ton of scooters and strollers abandoned through the land. On foot is the only way through. Plus you need to take an elevator up into the land and then an elevator down into the land. It is just not scooter or stroller friendly.

Yoshi and Donkey Kong rides were down with no ETA for the rides to return to service.

After that, My wife really wanted to see the Ministry of Magic. It was a much more open area and not as congested. But ride time was 150 minutes. Too long to wait for a ride.

We then got something to eat at astropub. When we walked in, it was open seating. So we picked a seat and opened the menu on our phone. We tried to place an order, but it was insisting on saving our credit card into in the app. I just don't do that. So I went back to the front door and the greeter sent me another greeter where I could order. After waiting in line, they asked me for my table #. No clue. Can't place an order without it. So I went back to my table, found the number and went back to get in line again. I have been here 30 minutes now.

The food came out with 1 set of utensils and napkin for 2 people and no drinks. When I grabbed a server, they told me someone else would bring those by. 10 minutes later, my burger is almost gone, my hands greasy, I go up to the bar to get napkins and my drinks. Same story someone else was bringing them out. 10 minutes later, we finally get our drink cups but no napkins. When I asked them about them, the pointed to the servers door that I could get some there.

The burger and my wife's salad was good, but service was abysmal.

From here, we went to the Isle of berk. Again ride times were multiple hours. We decided that this was pointless and left. A complete waste of $400.

We won't be back until it is part of our AP and we can guarantee that we get the express pass. So it won't be anytime soon.

On a side note, the price of 3 days at Universal was more expensive than a week at Disney. 2 waters at the hotel was $16. On the plus side, you can now get seltzer water at the freestyle fountains in the park.

You don't have to wait until you have entered the park to buy Express Pass. It's sold weeks and months in advance. They are now selling them for Epic Universe through December 31, the same last date they are selling tickets for. There are already several future dates that are sold out, including all the rest of this week.

Thanks for this review. We were planning to go as part of an upcoming Disney trip this December but we decided a week or so back to wait until our other planned strips in spring or fall 2026. Who knows if it will be better or whether wait times may actually be worse (with possible inclusion in AP etc.) but there are just too many risks we didn’t feel like dealing with for this trip. Seems like there are just too many people, low capacity rides, and too many weather related shut downs.

Yes, the delays and long lines sound just like our trips. Actual wait times were often higher than posted. Even with EP, we were unable to see the Dragon show until our 3rd visit. We have a trip booked for December that I may cancel. I'm tired just thinking about the lines.

Thanks for the note about super mario world not being scooter or stroller friendly. I'll have a stroller if I do a family trip and it sounds like I'll need to plan accordingly.

Our trip is for February and I'm still debating if we should cancel - I've booked a disney hotel for the exact same dates as a backup haha. I was really hoping the reviews would get better over the fall

Wow so sorry for your bad experience. We are going in a few weeks as part of our WDW trip. That is if the planes are flying. As others have stated, we bought the Express Pass early when we bought our park tickets. We are staying at the Royal Pacific for a few days before moving on to AKV Jambo House. Royal Pacific stays comes with an express pass for the other parks. I have been doing a lot of research on these boards and others as Universal has a much different approach to Mobile Order and Express Passes than Disney. We never buy Lightning Lane at Disney, but since it is included with our room for the other parks, we thought, why not for Epic.

Fortunately we do not need a scooter or a stroller so there is that. It does surprise me that at this day and age, the park is not so scooter friendly.

I am afraid your post does highlight that the time where you could just go to a park (Disney, Universal, Busch Gardens, etc) on a whim is over. You almost need to plan you vacation like a military campaign. Grandma and I try not to over plan. (A real oxymoron these days) We also dont want to be glued to our phones. I want to look up and enjoy the atmosphere and vibe. Not be a slave to the little screen.

We shall see soon, I guess.

100% agree. When I propose Disneyland to the rest of my party this week… I will definitely emphasize NO LL this window. It’s a “let it go” sort of visit, and I already scripted EVERY attraction prior.

I believe there is an entrance to the side of the escalators for Super Nintendo World so you don't need to go up the escalator. It brings you right in to the "ground floor". I may be wrong, I have watched a few videos on both the CA, Japan, and FL parks so I could be confused.
