Epic Mickey---Yea or Nea?

[Mickey Rules]

I've heard both good and bad things, which is pretty standard, yet still incredibly unhelpful. So I figured I'd turn to some experts for their opinions. Is it good/worth it, or no? Thanks!

Yea!!!! I got it for christmas and just finished my first time thru a couple of weeks agao. we have all had so much fun with it. It took me a bit to get the hang of it, and I was very happy when I discovered the walkthrus online for the few times I got stuck or wanted to make sure I completed an area. It was a fun game, and I look forward to playing thru again.

if you're a disney fan at all, then it's a must have.... and even if you aren't the biggest disney fan, it's still a fun game..... good replay value, as your actions (good/bad) can dictate how the game unfolds...

camera angles can sometimes get a little frustrating, but that's sort of nit-picking...

Ok great, thanks! I had heard extremes about it...that it was awesome if you're a Disney fan, and that it was bad because of glitches and camera issues. I was leaning towards getting it, but I just wanted some reassurance I guess haha. Thanks for the help!!

I only had minor problems with the camera, and you do have a way to change it most of the time...I really enjoyed the game, and even though I've beaten it once already, I couldn't wait to go back and complete all of the tasks I didn't do the first time.

I can deal with the camera, I'm sure it wont bother me (I always had trouble with the Maro 64 camera when I was 6, so I'm used to it hahaha). It was more that what I heard about it was so far on both extremes that it got to be confusing. I watched some videos of it on youtube, and I'm really looking forward to it.

just run a search for 'epic mickey walkthrough' and it should show a bunch of different sites.....



the camera angles are probably the worst when you're up against the edge of the screen/wall, and it won't let you turn it or change the angle.... those instances are typically few and far between.... for the most part, it's just trial/error in getting your timing/angles right.... and on the plus side, even if you 'die', you won't have to start over from the beginning of the game.... you just restart that level with a fresh set of lives....

I bought it and frankly it is hard for me to play. I am SICK to death of how they are making the RPGs now, no thought, no ability to free play. It is so boring to me.

If you want a fun game with a real art brush, go get OKAMI instead or Zelda Twilight Princess.

That being said, I took my college dd's PS2, hooked it up in my room and popped in Final Fantasy 8. Where o' where are the games with actual substance?

I am thinking of getting Fallout New Vegas. Sounds like something with substance however the price is still too high for my tastes.

Anyway my Wii DIED again the other day. I am so bummed. I had it fixed last yr and now it is dead again. I am going to have to buy a new one this time around.

I find the gameplay and camera highly annoying.

The concept is very imaginative. I just can't play it very often because I get very frustrated.

Prefacing this with - I'm not the gamer in the family, so I was just watching DS and DH play. But I really wasn't sure about it. I didn't like the creepy depiction of the Magic Kingdom, and I wasn't sure about what they were supposed to do.

I feel the same way about most games these days..... tend to prefer the open/sandbox style formats, where I can do the set quests/missions, but can also just go off and explore on my own and not be forced into a set path....

if you don't mind an 'older' game, try picking up Fallout 3 - released 2008(they have a 'game of the year edition' out that includes all of the additional content add-ons, which is running around $20-25). I'd recommend the PC version over any console, simply for the mods you can download online. There's an extensive modding community on the Fallout games, so there's a lot of extra content/updgrades/etc that players have made to expand on the orignal game itself (same goes for the New Vegas version).... it just adds to the life of the game and keeps it from being a once-and-done type thing....

I am playing FF8 right now, older games are no problem. While the graphics are funny, the game itself is so awesome.

DH is the gamer in the family. He says he had issues with the camera angles and with not being able to go back and complete certain subquests he missed. However, he indicated that the latter problem was not really an issue as it merely increased the replay-ability of the game.

As a game watcher, I found it amusing. It is an especially good game for any fan of Disney animation or the parks.

Santa brought it for the kids but I can't get them to stop playing the Michael Jackson Experience game long enough for them to play Epic!!

I will say for anyone else asking about the game, I'm not sure if it's good for very small kids as some parts of the game are quite creepy and gothic...not all light-hearted fun...
