Over the past ten years some attractions have been re-imagined at epcot, but no new attraction has opened since Soarin. Is Frozen a sign of things to come and we'll see more new attractions or is it just an opportunity do drop a "Frozen land" in the parks?

Either way, happy birthday, Soarin! You're alright.

The answer is 'yes' to both questions...

It was an efficient and cost-effective way to generate a money grab and I fear it's a sign of things to come for Epcot.

Epcot underwent one of the most aggressive periods of E Ticket building in Disney Parks history. From 1999 to 2005 3 new E Tickets opened. Soarin finished those updates. Epcot has been living off the momentum of those upgrades ever since. I would say it's time for serious thought on updating Future World extensively. However, it's not critical. That's the problem. Despite being older, there are enough crowd pleasers to make updating and spending more seem illogical. How many more guests could Disney gain by adding an all new E Ticket? The jury is out.

I wouldn't say that Disney needs to build e tickets in Epcot but maybe some c and d's. I also think like you said just some updating would make all the difference for Epcot. They updated Test Track why not do the same to Mission space, SSE, and others. Soarin will get digital upgrades and eventually a new film so there is that.

And how many attractions have closed and/or been neutered since the late 1990's? At the end of the day, EPCOT has less attractions today than it did in the late 90's. If that is how you "grow" a theme park, I would argue that they're doing it wrong.

If that truly is the case, then why is EPCOT the only park in which you can only choose one FP+ "crowd pleaser" per day? Plain and simple, there is very little of substance within the park. The FP+ tiers are an open acknowledgement of this by TWDC.

I can't disagree with you more on this one.

Attendance remains strong, and desire to ride high. They could make a compelling argument that the current rides are meeting demand in a satisfactory way.

I'm seeing tiering at both DHS and Epcot right now:

I'm with you on this. New displays and maybe some updated animation would do a lot of good.

Is this true? Has Disney said that they are making a new film for Soarin'? I really think that a new film is all that ride needs.
Yes, the new film is debuting at Shanghai Disneyland exclusively, and then will be rolled out to Florida sometime after. I have seen other rumors that say they're making an entirly new film, but that doesn't make sense. Apparently there will be a different Walt Disney World flyover at the end.

I stand corrected... HS as well... However, for the same exact reason (lack of worthwhile attractions). Another park that is in the red in terms of # of attractions as compared to a few years ago.

MK is the only park with a substantial amount of desirable attractions, and viola... no tiers.

Yep. Shanghai gets exclusive first dibs. Then sometime after Florida and California get newer versions.
