Does anybody know if the Fish and Chips at the stand in Epcot are made fresh on site? Or are they shipped frozen and then re-fried at the stand?

Thanks in advance for any help!

regular french fries for the "chips" maybe a little thicker. I like them- but others have said they are too greasy- To me they were fine. And had a nice crisp taste. I love them.

It's a fish and chips "stand" with an order window just to the right of the Rose and Crown pub.

English "chips" are like our french fries ... not potato chips.

Their menu is very limited and the fish is greasy .... but GOOD. If you are hungry for fried fish and just want counter service, it is the place to go. If your plans don't accomodate a stop, I don't think you'd be missing too much ... the fish is good, but it is not necessarily a MUST DO in my opinion.

If you are going for lunch and want to eat at 12 noon, get there 15 minutes early as the lineup gets to be quite long.....and yes they are very good

One of the few places in all of WDW where you can actually get fried fish of any type. I can't understand how in all the "world" there is nowhere to get fried fish or especially fried shrimp - not even at the "Florida inspired" places. Hello... you can't throw a rock in Florida without hitting a restaurant that has fried shrimp available. It's kind of a big deal here. In some places you can get fried shrimp from fast food restaurants!

I don't know if the fish is frozen coming in, but I do know they fry it up at the stand (we've had to wait for fresh batch).

And I remember the chips as closer to steak fry size than the thin french fries you'd find at most fast food places like McD's.

Just FYI: I haven't had it so don't know if it's any good, but you can get fried shrimp at Mara at AKL. Also Narcoosee has an appetizer with fried shrimp (but it's only like three fried shrimp:mad:). I think we've also gotten fried shrimp on a platter over at Fultons. I agree though. I wish they served fried shrimp at more WDW restaurants.

My husband liked the fish and chips at Harry Ramsden's, but I trashed mine. They were dripping in grease. Yuk!

The fish and chips were uite greasy last time we tried them there at England. We have liked the fish and chips at Cooke's of Dublin (DTD) better since then.

I love those fish and chips at the Rose and Crown stand. We usually split and order and is more than enough. YUMMY!:cool1:

I agree. A little greasy...but yummy. My DS and I also split an order and it's more than enough.

Don't forget a pint of half and half at the stand on the OTHER side of the Rose & Crown!

Makes a great dinner to sit at the tables to the left of the R&C waiting for Illuminations!

I've always gotten the fish 'n chips and usually love them, but on our trip last Oct, I noticed that they were very greasy. Not sure if I'll get them again for a while.

The fish & chips are so yummy, so I really don't care whether they are shipped frozen. I can't wait to get some in August

From my experience, the F&C at the window are much better/fresher/hotter at the window than inside the Rose & Crown. :earsboy:
