Does anyone know if Disney is doing anything for Epcot's 25th year Anniversary? I've been pondering this for a while.

It would be so intresting and exciting if they added another Country to the World Showcase, wouldn't it? :confused3

I wouldn't plan on that, but maybe they'll have the parade run for the year. Anyway, we'll find out what they're planning just about this time next year.

I've heard rumors that they will. I'd doubt if it will be as big of a deal as recent celebrations but I couldn't picture Disney not doing something to celebrate it.

I assumed they would, but now it seems as though Epcot's 25th is being Overshadowed by this new Year of a Million Dreams celebration.

The same thing happened with WDW's 30th anniversary, falling during the '100 Years of Magic' celebration. There were a few souvenir items, t-shirts, etc. sold in some shops, but no real big commemoration. (I got a nice 'Walt Disney World at Thirty' t-shirt though, with a picture of Walt and the wall-sized mockup of the Florida property, and pencil sketches of several attractions...)

I hope they do something special. It is just the excuse I need to go back next fall!! :jumping1:

Maybe they will paint Space Ship Earth and Make it look like a Cup Cake! :lmao: :woohoo:

HAHAHAHAH or one of those Hostess Snowballs!!

Hopefully a new attraction will open in Future World (something that actually makes sense in Future World). Since John L. has been pushing for Dreamfinder to come back, that may be Epcot's 25th birthday surprise! The original JII! :)

A new country would be amazing as well. I still push for Israel and Russia.

There are alot of Countries I would like to see added. Among them are:

India and Russia :woohoo:

Greece and Tahiti would be my choices. (India could be very well represented by beefing up the Asia section of AK, IMHO. I'd rather see that, rather than a dilluting of that section by trying to cram homages to China, Japan, SE Asia, etc., into it.)

With the 25th in mind I was looking around the web and did find some rumors. Based on that rumor I am going to make sure I will be at WDW before the 25th birthday of EPCOT itself. I made THE CHOICE to go to WDW before that day so I would not have to miss out on my altime favorite show; Illuminations. Rumors could be wrong though... ;)

I would like to see Russia, Greece or Australia. Think of all the Wiggles stuff.

I've heard a lot about a new Illuminations, not that I want to see Reflections of Earth, which is our family's favorite fireworks show, gone.

Ooh! good call, I hope you're right! I miss the original Figment with Dreamfinder!

I read somewhere that they are thinking about a new parade for Epcot. That would be great, I thought Tapestry of Dreams was beautiful!

And I am already freaking out about what hotel I should choose. I just felt the need to share that with my Disfriends. :yay:
