Epcot: World Showcase smoking area changes.

This might be temporary but one of the spots did have a no smoking sign like they put up in some of the old MK spots so who knows....

removed:
- Japan
- The one at the end of the path near the odyssey and edge of mexico (path from test track to the edge of mexico).
- Maybe: I didn't try to stop at the other path that goes from imagination to the edge of canada but they have some food boths in the area so I think this one is also gone.

New:
- France it's right next to the bridge along the river with view of the international gateway entrance.

The rest are where they used to be and they are already on the printed maps they hand out so pick that up when you enter the park if you need to know where the rest are.

Personally I like them this way but if your not expecting it, japan is going to throw you for a loop. I can't see france lasting long as it's feet from people standing around waiting in line for the kiosk but it's also france and it's more authentic now

Are they well out of the way of traffic? That's all I care about. I don't want to gag as I walk into Epcot.

japan was in a better spot than france. as I mentioned in the first post your basically smoking with people in line at the kiosk. Very few smokers stopped there (myself included). it was too close.

Pooh...liked the one near the Odyssey and edge of Mexico but thanks for info. The one in France sounds like a good place to stop but you're right...too close to people walking by and will probably skip that one too.

Future world changed now.

Both smoking moved to a better spot. Both under the monorail but between land and mission space. Closer to innovations on their respective side. Off to the side, plenty of seats. For long time visitor, the original spots.

International gateway is back but not on the maps.

Here is the current map to help see where the smoking sections are now....

the app is not accurate, which is why I grabbed a paper maps once I went to an old reliable spot and didn't find it in future world.

Notes:
1: the one near the land is actually the entire area north of it under the monorail.. nice spot actually but you hear "MINE MINE MINE" a lot in the background.
2: I didnt' stop on the mission space side at all so I couldnt' tell you if that' accurate but it used to be just north of that but I think they made it the sunken seating area just south of it (small path between that area and test track).
3: FRANCE: I didn't pass by it tonight but the back where it shows it was a meet and greet line and they actually had the smoking section starting at the edge of the bridge that goes to UK and across the seating at hte side of the lake (some of it, not all of it).
4: I'm not sure the one near #38 on the map (showcase plaza) is actually there. It's the entrance to a set of kiosks and another kiosk really close.. I didn't stop or look for it though so I could be wrong.
5: International gateway has had the benches and ash tray garbage cans reappear. they were missing for a couple days. The map does not show one, it's on the old spot which is along the path near the ticket booth side next to the little shop found there. It's roughly where the fp+ circle is located but it's a hair more south, river side of the walkway.
