Wondering if it is worth taking dd (6) to Epcot? We passed up the chance last year due to what I felt as more adult theming. Now I see they have these Kidstop activities. Can someone tell me more about this?
Also, is Soaring scary for kids or an enjoyable ride?

Any helpful hint would be great!
:confused3

We took 2 five yr old girls,9 yr girl & 7 yr od boy. They all loved Soarin'. They also like Turtle Talk & everything about the LivingSeas, The Living with the land ride, And Test Reack in Future World. In the WS the enjoyed the kidCot Stations, waching the Candy Lady in Japan, the movie in Canda, The street peformers at varoius countries really loved the guys in front of France & the living Statues at Italy.

But what I think they enjoyed the most it after MK & AK which we were kinda rushing we took Epcot alot slower.

It is my Ds8's FAVE park :cool1: going there at leat 2/12 days this 11 night trip :thumbsup2 - if you have any q's just let me know, DS8 is a Epcot EXPERT :thumbsup2

We've taken our kids to Epcot and every park since they were babies (now in elementary, middle and high school). There is tons for everyone to do - I woulnd't pass it up.

Soarin is amazing.

Epcot is my 5 year old's favorite park, and Soarin is his favorite ride in all of WDW.

DS says the best things to do are Test Track, Soarin, Journey into the Imagination, Turtle Talk, Jr Chef at The Land, and shopping in the countries.

We took our DGrD now 8 then 6 she loved it as much as we do. The living sea's Honey I shrunk the audience, and the world show case, especially the Biergarden for lunch and the show. We also went with a friend last year that took her DGrS he loves anything w/science so he had a blast.

DS7's favorite park, too! The Kidcot stations are a nice chance for your daughter to talk with CMs from that country. You pick up a plain white mask at the first country and have a chance to color it, have a stamp added to the wooden handle, and add a die cut paper (plastic piece in at least one country) decoration that represents the country at each stop. When they've visited all the countries, your daughter will be given an 8.5 x 11 color cartoon-type picture. They've also added extra stops at some of the bigger FutureWorld attrations, but there's another necklace type thing you can use there to collect the paper decorations.

We finally got DS on Mission Space last month since they now offer a choice of rides--regular or "less intense". He absolutely LOVED it. He's also been a huge Figment fan since our first WDW trip back in Dec '03.

Soarin' is a pretty gentle ride that your daughter will probably enjoy. She'll have to wear an extra safety restraint at her age/size, but that should give her a little more comfort about riding as well. My DS likes to cross his legs on the ride instead of letting them dangle.

You'll probably be really surprised at how much you both enjoy your day at Epcot--I say definitely try it!

My kids love EPCOT! The are 8 & 5 and have loved it since they were little. They love exploring, seeing everything. DS5 rode Soarin when he was just turned 4 for the first time & was not scared at all. Once it lifts you in the air, it doesnt moved & they're strapped in pretty good.

dont pass it up, lots to see & do!

Another DS 7 who LOVES Epcot. He enjoyed it at 5 too.

It is his favorite park & he wants to go there as soon as we get to WDW in January & at least one full day while we're there & the last day.

He loves Spaceship Earth.

Living Seas was great, especially Turtle Talk--can't wait for the Nemo ride.

He rode Soarin', but it made him a little motion sick.

He also likes exploring the countries.

DS2 also enjoyed it in January.

There may have been a time when Epcot was 'the educational (read: boring for kids) park', but those days are long gone. Our boys (8, 10 and 13) LOVE Epcot. It'sbeen our 13 year old's favorite Disney park since he was around 5 years old.

And Soarin' is the attraction NONE of them want to miss. Always a huge hit, with the youngest in our group, and the oldest. :thumbsup2

I forgot to mention Innovations, which has a lot of fun activities. An especially big hit with the kids is the video games.

Both of my kids enjoy Epcot. When we first went in 2000 DS was 9 and DD was 7.
To be fair they enjoyed the rides most, my DS also liked some of the Innoventions games - e.g. Disney Tag.
I though World Showcase was going to be a problem but the two things that really helped here were the passport (which you buy from one of the gift shops then get stamped by CMs around the world) and the mask making with the CMs. They worked very well. Just need something to keep DW amused now

Both our kids loved Epcot too (ages 7 & 8). They had no problems with Soarin' and we ended up going on it 3 times!!

We taught my dd to say Hello & Thank you in each of WS country's native languages. She loved "talking" to the CM's. She loved the kidcot stations and making the mask. We homemade a passport but you can buy them & get stickers & stamps from each country. She also liked doing the penny presses at the countries. It was also super easy to get autographs of princesses. If you wait until after the princess breakfast they all are out at their respective countries & are very accessible for talking & getting pics/autographs. She also liked all the little shows at the countrys! We did not say it was educational because we were afraid it might turn her off. As it turned out EPCOT was probably our favorite park. We'll need at least 2 days next time. The slower pace was nice too!
