When folks talk about getting Epcot views at BVC. What do you actually see of Epcot from your balcony? Also read those rooms have alot of traffic noice is this true?

When we had an Epcot view two years ago, we could see Spaceship Earth. You could definitely hear the traffic while sitting out on the balcony but not in the room itself.

We had an Epcot view in August. There were alot of trees outside our balcony, but if you really looked you could see some of the buildings in World Showcase through the trees.

We had an EPCOT view twice. You can see Spaceship Earth from both of ours. The tops of the Future World Buildings. You could also see most of the buildings in World Showcase. We caught the end of Illuminations once from the room and could see it pretty well. There was noise from the main road - but like said above - only when you were out on the balcony. Otherwise it was very quiet.

Do the best EPCOT views have the road noise issue?
It depends - if you leave your balcony doors open - you will hear cars / buses / trucks etc. If they are closed - it's quiet. We only used the balcony early in the morning and it wasn't bad.

The road noise is minimal. We had a great view and could see most of world showcase and the Spaceship earth. The cool thing is going to sleep and seeing Spaceship Earth in the window.

Illuminations was certainly visable but it was not at all the same as being there. First, no music, you could not see any of the fire show from the lake and the lasers did not have the same effect. All you could see was fireworks. The thing is it is not that far so it is better to just walk in a and watch the show from France or England.

The view is good but I think you will find its not that important. Having a view of a quiet pool or something green is nice too. The best things that BCV has to offer is location, to EPCOT and the beautiful Boardwark area, SAB which is the best pool ever. For me (being a guy), being near ESPN was great, it has great food and resonable prices and a good environment if you like sports. Its the only DVC propperty with a character breakfast.

OK I am way off the subject now. Cool view but don't get too excited or you maybe disappointed.

I agree with princess&tig-don't get too hung up on the views. There really aren't any great ones at BCV. However, I do request Epcot view, just because it's pretty cool to see some of the fireworks from Illuminations. Our last stay, we were on the 5th floor (room 551 dedicated 2BR), and had a neat view of the Swan & Dolphin through the woods, and part of the BWV. Again, not really much of a view, but interesting.

We stayed there last May facing what was the back, I believe was the woods or something. I was so peaceful. We could hear the Beatle impersonators and the night time show from the balcony. It was great.

I've had 2 different Epcot views from BCV. One was a full view of Spaceship Earth, but we were right by the road. Traffic noise was only an issue when we were on the balcony though. Inside the room it didn't bother us at all.

The other time, we overlooked the woods and LOVED it. We could see Illuminations beautifully and could even see, through the trees, the giant globe moving along. The music was clear as could be when we sat out on the balcony. The only drawback was that it was COLD that trip. So we took blankets from the room and wrapped up in them and enjoyed the show. :D

To me, there are three seperate areas of BCV that have EPCOT views.

The first has the great view of Spaceship Earth. It is also the most private as there are no rooms facing this wing. It is also the closest to the road. These rooms have the highest room numbers (odd I think) and are also very close to the parking lot. I think we've only a room here once...it was great. Could see the higher parts of Illuminations but couldn't hear well at all. On the other hand, it was winter and not very humid so sound doesn't travel as well.

The next set consists of two wings which face each other. We've had rooms here a couple of times at least. You can hear Illuminations from these rooms and see a good bit of it. These rooms face the mysterious fairy ring.:D

The last view is of the grassy swamp area between BCV and BC. You can see BC rooms from here. We've had great views of Illuminations from here too...maybe the best we've had. It is also the farthest from the road. I think this is the same one travelbug describes.

I personally love all three views.....just don't want a pool view (which we've had once too and will whenever we need to book an accessible 2BR:( ).

I currently have reservations with a request for EPCOT view. I may change that for the woods view. I really enjoed it last time.

we had asked for epcot got woods view at end of buildin sill coud see WS and Firework no noise at all great room bad if you want to use the elevator all the way dow the hall around the corner

We will be staying at BCV in Feb 05 and will have two studios. Does anyone know what types of views studios have? Not sure if all room types have a "woods" view or a "epcot" view. Probably our first request would be close to each other and then I don't know what to ask for. Any Suggestions?

Travelbug. I see you have made the trip in Feb often. Any input on the weather then. We are going Feb 5-11. Thanks for any input!

I think BCV23 did a great job describing the Epcot views available. :D

Cmbar, there are studios with all view types available. Remember that studios and 1BR are found next to each other all over the place, because when combined they make up the lockoff 2BR units. We've only ever stayed in studios at BCV, and have had varied views. Besides the 2 Epcot views I mentioned, the other time we overlooked the quiet pool and canal, and had an extra large balcony. That was really nice too, although it was next to the elevator shaft and we heard every sound of the elevator starting and stopping. I'd have to say that my favorite was still the woods view when we could see much of Illuminations and hear all the music from the balcony. I just looked back, and that room number happened to be #427. It was fairly close to the main elevator too.

I'll PM you about the weather. :D

Can you tell me why you don't like the pool view rooms? Noise?

No, Pig Pen. It is just my personal preference. I enjoy looking at beautiful WDW landscaping whatever resort we're visiting. I also really enjoy the view of Illuminations (even though I think all are at least partially obscured) and/or SE at BCV. Just wish the 2BR at BCV were spread around. Instead they're all stacked on top of each other with a pool view.

Excuse the whine!:o
