When I started planning our next trip, I really wanted to try Le Cellier, but this is a family trip and will include a 5 and 1 year old. So I thought, Coral Reef, my DD will love that! But I have heard some bad things about quality and waiting. Now I'm thinking Garden Grill. With the characters and food choices I think DD would enjoy it. How is the atmosphere? We have never been to CR or GG. What do you think?

We ate at the Garden Grille this February, a trip which included our DD11 birthday. The character lunch at Garden Grille was OK but not great. Don't get me wrong; very good food but I can't put my finger on it, something was missing. The revolving restaurant was fun and the characters kept up the birthday greetings (we finally figured out which is Chip and which is Dale:woohoo: ). If you go remember your table number, because if you go to the restroom, when you return, your table will be gone:confused3 ! Seriously, I did this and forgot the table # and had to walk all the way around to find my family, actually pretty funny. Wait staff I will say was awesome, even the chef came out to wish DD11 a happy birthday with a special pastry, nice touch!
Again, something is missing, if any DIS'ers can "put their finger on it" let me know.

Stick with your original plan of Le Cellier. Nothing wrong with taking children there. We do not have kids, so I'm not biased. We were there for lunch and there were many families. The service was efficient and our waitress was friendly with the children at surrounding tables. The food was very good. I even had desert from the kids menu: Moose. It was chocolate mouse shaped like a moose. It was very yummy!

:cake:

Yeah, why change your plans from LeCellier? Disney World is a family place. Everyone expects little ones to be at the restaurants. We're only two adults now and we never seem to be "bothered" by kids at the restaurants. We've even been to California Grill and Yachtsman Steakhouse where kids were present and it's not been a problem. Take 'em and enjoy. I'm taking our almost two years old grandson to Disney World next year and I'm not even thinking about his age at any restaurant. We're going anywhere. Well, except Victoria and Albert's.
