What are my transportation option from Epcot to MGM (in order to arrive at MGM at 4pm). How long does each method take?

From Epcot you can exit at the International Gateway - between Great Britain and France I believe.
From the International Gateway you can either walk past the Boardwalk Inn and take the path in the back of the Boardwalk to the Studios (probably 30 + minutes at a leisurely pace).
Or you can take the Friendship boat to the Studios (outside the International Gateway). The boat will stop at the Yacht/Beach Clubs, Boardwalk, and Swan/Dolphin so this will take at least as long as walking, maybe more.
It's a nice walk if the weather is good.

Pretty sure there is a direct bus. I think the walk is more than 30 minutes.

We've walked it (we were planning on taking the boat, but the line was too long) and I think it took us about 20 minutes.

Can anyone confirm the bus idea? How long would the bus take?

I think we'd prefer to take the boat but 30 mins sounds pretty long as we'd be heading over for a PS at MGM and don't want to leave Epcot until the last minute.

Yes, there is a direct bus between Epcot and MGM. It could take as long a 30 minutes if you just missed the bus.

The transportation depends on where you are going to end up in Epcot when you wnat to leave. If you just got off MS, take the bus. If you are in WS. take the boat or walk.

from Epcot. It was a great relaxing, cooling trip! I would take that over a bus any day. Just one man's opinion.

That's exactly what we'll be doing but we have the dinner package and our PS is currently for 4:30pm. If we take the boat, I guess we'll need to be at the dock by 3:45pm or so.

They were training a new pilot, and she had problems docking at Port Orleans. Added and extra 5 minutes probably to the ride.

Just an FYI

No way we'd do a bus when we could take a boat :boat:. DS loves the boat!

I'd say a nice leisurely boat ride would be a good bet; and your time estimate should be about right. If you have just missed the boat, a quick walk is always on option unless it's raining or stinking hot; I believe total distance is about 1.5 miles, maybe a little more. It took us 25 mins to do it, with two strollers, and we went at a more-or-less leisurely pace. You're gonna be doing plenty of walking at WDW tho, so I recommend the boat, even tho it does make a few stops.

totally different boat and boat ride. Or was that a general observation about possible delays?
