epcot to mgm

Hello everyone....
I am sure that this has been discussed before, but I could not find any info on it. My husband and I, and my parents, and our two dd 4 and dd18 months, will be in disney 12/1-12/6. We are looking at heading to epcot for the afternoon, and then to MGM for the Osborne lights. Depending upon how the kids do, we may just go directly to MGM. How do we do this from EPCOT. Last year we tried to go from EPCOT to MK, and the cast member told us at the window that there was a direct bus to MK. No luck, we could'nt find it, and ended up going all the way back to POFQ, and then back to MK. It worked out well because we actually needed to go back to our room, but what is the best way to do this, without so much transferring back and forth? Any help anyone can provide would be very much appreciated.

Go thru the International Gateway at Epcot and take the boat to MGM. The ride takes about 30 minutes. You stop at Boardwalk, YC/BC, Swan/Dolphin and then MGM. Pleasant ride.

The International Gateway is in World Showcase, between UK and France.

Hello everyone....

Just a note, you can take the monorail from Epcot to MK.
