Just wondering on the quickest method of transportation... We are doing the princess b-fast in Norway and then heading over to MGM. I know we could walk from the Intl gateway, but let's just say we didn't want to walk?!?! Would you recommend the bus or the boat? Any experience with this? Thanks....

You can only take the bus if you leave from the front entrance of Epcot...you can only take the boat if you leave through the gateway. Either way it would involve a little walking. So, I guess it would depend on what you might want to see when you're walking to the entrance.

Unfortunetly, walking is a neccessary evil of Walt Disney World. My guess is that the Int'l Gateway would be closer... however, just a note... the boat ride to the Studios is 25-30 minutes in length, because it will stop at all 5 Epcot Resorts. That, and those boats only have two speeds... Slow, and Slower. ;)

By contrast... the busride from Epcot is only 9 minutes, but requires a further walk from World Showcase.

Isn't there a (bus)transfer involved here?

Depending on the time of day/weather, the boat ride is very pleasant. I have however waited up to 15-20 minutes for the boat to arrive.

What time are you going to the princess breakfast? If you're eating before the parks open and then getting to MGM for the opening, I think your only option would be to walk to the International Gateway and then catch a boat to MGM. They won't have park-to-park transportation running before the parks are open. That may not be a factor if your breakfast is a little later, but it's something to keep in mind.

This is good information....thanks!
I know we are going to be walking:D I was just thinking that the walk around the BW might be a bit long for the little legs in our group.
Our princess b-fast is for 9:15. Norway is a bit of a distance from the Intl gateway. Perhaps it would be quicker to walk to the main entrance and take a bus.
Can I assume that an EPCOT to MGM bus will be running around 10:30??? And do the "park to park" buses pick up in the same area as the resort buses?
What would I do without these boards? Wander aimlessly around EPCOT, I guess!!!
Thanks again!

Nope. The bus goes directly from Stop #6 at Epcot to Stop #6 at the Disney-MGM Studios. Estimated travel time: 9 minutes.

Park to Park busses start running as soon as the first guest is dropped off. At this point in time, they'll be "on demand"

I would walk to the Swan/Dolphin and get a boat from there. That way you don't have to wait for all the resort stops.

Hi, if I remember the order of countries at the World Showcase, on the left side (when facing the American Pavilion) the first country is Mexico and the next on (moving right) is Norway. So most likely they will let you in and you will walk past Mexico to Norway and then (if the World Showcase isn't open yet), you will have to leave the same way that you went in (back past Mexico).

The International Gateway is all the way on the other side of the World Showcase, so you would have to walk all the way from Norway, back the way you came, all the way around the lake and then past Canada and England to get to the International Gateway and the boats to go to MGM.

At this point, I would think it would just be easier to walk back to the front of Future World in Epcot and catch a bus to MGM, as the walk out of the World Showcase and around the lake would probably be much longer than to the front of the park.

If the World Showcase were open (it didn't open until noon when we were down there last year, so I am not sure if it is opening at 11 or noon now), then it would be a bit quicker to walk through it and out the International Gateway. But since you have to backtrack anyway, I would go to the front of Epcot and take the bus to MGM.

Have a wonderful trip!
