To those who have stayed at the GF.. how was your experience getting back to your room via the monorail after the fireworks (park close)? Is it quicker to just take a bus? I'm assuming that having to transfer from the EPCOT line to the resort line adds a considerable amount of time.

Also... if EPCOT closes at 11pm and Magic Kingdom at 9pm, does this mean the resort line will be closed for transfer? Or does it run 1 hour past EPCOT's park closing?

Thanks all!

I'd expect the worst backup to be at the Epcot station waiting for the monorail from there to the TTC. I'd also expect that once at TTC there wouldn't be that long a line waiting for the resort monorail.

We did this once about 4-5 years ago. Never again. It was chaos and that was before covid. Lines at both legs for monorail were long. I can't imagine the bus wouldn't be quicker but maybe someone else who's done it would know.

I'll be honest, this is one reason why GF was a one and done for us. We had all kinds of transportation issues that week. We now do split stays with more direct transportation options to the parks we plan to visit.

If MK is still open, maybe boat or express monorail to MK and take the walkway to GF?
