So on an upcoming trip we're planning to do Epcot in morning and after dinner hop to DHS for the star wars fireworks, assuming they have them. What is the best way to get from Epcot to DHS around 6:30 pm between walking, disney bus, or disney boat? We won't have a car, and with a child who will need a booster seat, taxi/uber is not an option either.

I'm inclined to walk, but don't know if that's really the best option after being on our feet at epcot all day.

Depends where you are when you're done at Epcot. From World Showcase, take the boat. From Future World, take the bus.

We will have dinner in Germany, so it sounds like boat or walking are the two best options. What about the new upcharge park-to-park bus service? Anyone done that from Epcot to DHS?

Assuming you have a stroller, be aware the walk is a pretty long one. The first half is pretty, but it gets dull after about 10 minutes. Having pushed a stroller a few times, I only walk if I have just missed a boat and don't want to wait.

This is not going to be a short park hop. Germany is very far back from both the front entrance and the International Gateway. You're looking at a 20-25 minute walk to get to transportation (bus at the front entrance, boat at the IG entrance) either way through evening Epcot crowds, followed by a 10-20 minute wait, and a 5 minute bus ride or 20 minute boat ride. Definitely don't walk the whole way from Germany. With a stroller, you'd be walking for the better part of an hour. Your fastest and easiest trip with a stroller is probably exiting through the front of the park and taking the bus. The express bus is very near the front of Epcot and won't save you much walking time, but would save you from a second trip through security, but of course you'd have to pay to use it. Even with the bus options, I'd give yourself a solid hour to make this trip comfortably with a stroller and potential waiting time. Germany really is far back there.

.5 miles from Germany to IG. .9 miles to the bus stops. I would walk to the boat (go left out of Germany pavillion) and then take the boat to DHS.

It all depends if you don't mind walking! We stay at the dolphin, and regularly walk from Epcot to the hotel, and over to DHS- it takes a while, so we allow 1/2 hour or 45 mins- mainly b/c we like to enjoy the pretty stroll along the waterway. That said, my DH prefers the boats, though they're fairly slow,as they make multiple stops at the hotels along the way. Either way,if you allow an hour you're fine. Or you can walk faster, but I like to saunter..... much more scenic than a bus ride

After a day of walking around Epcot I would suspect that a leisurely boat ride from the International Gateway would be the best bet.

There is a little bit of a shortcut for walkers. When you get to the Boardwalk main pool (the clown pool), walk thru the pool area to the center walk thru. It will take you out to the Boardwalk in between the BWI and BWV. (You stay outside the whole time.) This cuts a significant bit of walking since you won't be walking to the end of the BWV section along the canal and then back again on the Boardwalk side. I haven't been on the Dis much lately, but Robo used to post maps to show this shortcut.
Edited to add the link I just found to Robo's maps! Look for the pink path from Epcot to DHS (or vice versa). Go Robo!!
