Epcot Takeout

On our recent stay at the BC, I ordered food at Tangeirine Cafe and asked for it to go. It wasn't a problem. I only ordered one meal, though. I'm not sure how it would be for a larger order.

We also ate at the Captain's Grille and had the three course meal. We were so full from the first two courses that we asked for the dessert to go and they were able to do that for us.

Asking to box up a leftover dessert or part of an entree is not the same as getting an entire TS meal to go. Best thing to do is ask at the restaurant but realize it will not be guaranteed.

The OP stated she was there with little kids but didn't want to miss out on table service. I feel for her dilemma. I don't think think she intended to order for anyone but herself but I may be wrong. IMO the closer resort restaurants have superior food and sometimes not so crowded. Maybe take the kids like others do.

Not sure if they deliver to Disney but maybe look into Grub Taxi to have more options than getting counter service to go.

Under the circumstances the OP described I'd be looking hard at using that type of service. The owner of the DISboards talked about this service a while back on the podcast:

One other thing to keep in mind besides restaurants not being equipped to do take out. I've sometimes wanted to take certain things back to the hotel with me as to go items, but the servers have stopped me because the items don't travel well. So, even if you found a restaurant willing to do to take out for you there would still be the issue of food safety (and servers and chefs worried about presentation) limiting your options.

To me, it's better to go with either room service or an established delivery service but happy and safe travels with whatever you decide!

The issue really isn't the restaurants not being equipped for take-out...they are. The issue is the intended use - a table service restaurant is for sitting and eating in, not taking out. I have stomach problems, and a lot of times I'll get to a restaurant, barely start my entree, and literally not be able to finish my meal. I have always found the servers to be extremely accommodating in boxing up my remaining meal (plastic silverware included!) because it is obvious that I had entered the restaurant and sat down with the intent of eating my full meal there.

Some of the counter service places in Epcot are great for doing takeout...you just have to know which ones. Morocco is my #1 choice for this. Lotus Blossom Cafe in China is good too - but I don't ask for takeout, I just order the meal and then ask for a to-go box and put it together myself. The bakery in France will put any of their items in a to-go box for you.

Or take advantage of the situation and do some room service!!

You can get to go items easily at the bakeries in Norway and france. They also have take out boxes for the counter service in England. I have tried at Liberty Innn once and they weren't equiped to provide me with anything to carry things in. Now when I have gotten things to take from any of these places I have not ordered drinks so I don't know how that affects anything- I don't know they would have any way for you to carry drinks.
